Last night was fun, finally we were able to take our christmas dinner outing at work. Dinner, dancing, booze and a good night was had by most if not all. A couple of people didn't look as though they were having fun though I think they didn't like management being present. For me I don't care I'm out to have a good time and any office politics can stay away. For a change some of the youngesr people came too though they seemed to spend most of their time sitting around, sad that they can't keep up with us 'oldies'
I ache this morning though, twisting the night away has it's disadvantages. :) Perhaps I'm getting too old for this sort of thing..... nah.... It was funny though it was chucking it down when the bus dropped me off at 1.45 am, I saw the big puddle at the corner of the road and I thought I'd stepped over it but in my alcohol induced fuzziness I still managed to step ankle deep into the water, boy was that cold!
The food at the restaurant was ok though the roast potatoes were a bit over done. I had a lovely peach and melon starter and then followed it with red snapper in a lime and coriander sauce, I was originally going to have the salmon in red wine with orange but changed my mind at the last minute. The snapper was good but small. So to soak up some of the alcohol I finished with a butterscotch cheesecake which was very nice but not as good as the one I make.
One thing that had changed since the last time we were at this particular restaurant was that now it was a no smoking zone, great for me as eating in smoky places plays havoc with my asthma. The other nice thing was it wasn't too hot, I wore a sleeveless top because I tend to get warm very quickly and I felt very conscious of the bare arms as it is not something I normally do. Anyway I had a good time and that's what counts and in fact I drank alot less than I normally do to, not that hangovers are a problem anyway.
