Let not your heart be troubled. Neither let it be afraid. (On the way to Gethsemane)

Challenges come to us, but Christ is our refuge in strength in times of trouble.

Book of Mormon, staggering amount of conflict recorded. Written for us, and these authors prophetically warn us that violence and conflict will be a signature characteristic of life in the latter days.

Surely Christ and the Father must weep over those in our day who cannot figure out how to live in peace with our brothers.

We must care more about each other and help one another. The instruments we need are abundantly provided in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We cannot afford a failure to put these things to full use personally and publicly. We find the covenant of peace by turning to Christ. Peace taken from the world does not have to be taken from us personally. Apply the healing balm of Jesus Christ to all we can reach.

Many of the things we all struggle with we need help from the powers of Heaven, and to access these powers, we must live by principles of righteousness.

Liberty Jail - Joseph taught the principles of righteousness - patience, long suffering, gentleness and love unfeigned. Absent those, we face discord and enmity.

Don't expect the profane things of the world to lead to peace and happiness. Wickedness never was happiness.

In no case are we to be guilty of any kind of coercion or tyranny. Even down to the way we speak to one another. Everyone has the right to feel safety and peace at home.

Easter is a time for the righteous principles of the gospel and atonement to pass over conflict and contention, despair and transgression and death. It's a time to pledge total loyalty to the Lamb of God. The son of the living God looked down the path of mortality and saw us this weekend. He said, not let your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

minister to pobrecito - poor little one

Peter healing the cripple on the temple steps.

We should be led by revelation as we minister, not just going down a list.

Be faithful, succor the weak.

We are all the body of Christ, and each member is needed. Both the strong and the struggling are necessary to the whole body of Christ. "They are all good in their places." Joseph Smith. Each can realize their potential.

Bring inside those who stand on the porch of the church. If you've stepped off the path, please come back. There is a place for you in the church.

Dale G. Renland,
apostle

If there is a God, wouldn't he do something about it?

Our choices determine the outcomes, advantageous or disadvantageous.

Do your shoes fit?

Some of life is inherently unfair.

Behold, I have engraven thee upon the palms of my hands."

even in unfair situations, God can bless us. All unfairness resolved in eternity. We don't know how and when.

Be stone catchers, not throwers. Use eternal perspective.
Don't be hardened by unfairness. Ask God for help. Instead of bitter, become better. Ask for God's help. Join Christ's mission to be mitigate unfairness.

Song: Come Ye Children of the Lord

Neil L. Anderson,
apostle

Thou shalt live together in love, in so much that thou shalt weep for those who die.

We can't forget them, we don't cease to love them. We are growing as they have grown.

Our tears of sorrow turn to tears of anticipation.

Our eternal perspective enlarges our understanding of those who have moved on, but also helps with those who are just now entering mortality. Our journey did not begin at birth. We received our first lessons in the spirit world.

But for us, there is no question that spirit daughters and sons of God are on a progressive journey that began before this mortal life.

Hinckley: Wives and mothers are the anchors of the family. What an enormous and scared responsibility that is. Shun abortion, stay away from compromising situations which make it seem desirable. Children's lives are sacred and safeguarding them cannot be lightly brushed aside.

Live God's commandments, teach our children, share with others who will listen. Share our feelings about the sanctity of life, and why these decisions go beyond what a person wants for their own life. Reach out to those in dire straits making these decisions.

Whosoever receives a child into their midst, receives Christ.

View life from eternity, not just mortality. Promises to us are eternal.

Children are loved by God. Fewer children are being born in some of the most prosperous countries of the earth. When and how many are private decisions made between parents and the Lord.

Video recording:
Thierry Mutombo,
Seventy

Many still seek the truth to become free of the lies spread by the adversary. The savior promised he would be the light to all who seek the truth.

His home was small in size and also a dark place. There was no harmony. Parents were seeking for something the world could not provide. (Zaire - Kinshasa) Baptism changed their lifestyle. Size of home and social conditions didn't change, but the change of their hearts helped them to become a true family. Traveled for hours each week to church meetings.

Legacy from his father - pray, pray, pray.

We were blind, and can now see. Christ is the light we should hold up. He is this standard of excellence.

M. Russell Ballard,
Acting President of Apostles

Come unto Christ, belong to his church. Jesus taught that seeking to follow him is coming unto him.

Jesus wants us to know God as a loving Heavenly Father, which helps us know who we are and that we belong to a great eternal family.

Mayo: Having a sense of belonging is important to our physical and mental health (and spiritual +Ballard)

Ballard knows what it is to be surrounded by loved ones and friends and yet be lonely, as he wife died a couple of years ago. Each day we can awake to new possibilities with hope and belonging with Christ.

Many may not know they are loved by a Heavenly Father, and that we are His children. Everyone has divine nature and potential. This is in addition to our mortal identity, and enhances it.

Hope in Christ is not wishful thinking, it's an expectation that will be realized. It's essential to overcoming adversity and coming to know that we are loved by our eternal father and are His children who belong to His family.

Through making and keeping eternal covenants, we find belonging with Christ and our Heavenly Father.

Over 50% of church members are single (widowed, divorced, never married). The hope of all is the same as all members of the church - access to the grace of Christ through obedience to the gospel principles.

Understand that everyone who faithfully keeps covenants has the opportunity for exaltation. Heartfelt desire as well as deed.

Time and manner of bestowal hasn't been revealed, but they are assured. The millennium is the time for fulfilling all that has been promised.

Waiting on the Lord requires continued obedience and action and understanding. We are not sitting in a waiting room. Serve as Jesus served to increase our hope in Him. The contributions we make now to help build up the church on earth and gather Israel are much needed and have nothing to do with marital status.

Eternal life is available to ALL his children. Accept Jesus Christ and repent of sins. The Lord is ready to forgive, as often as we repent.

A person's capacities, desires and opportunities in matters of choice, including qualifications for eternal blessings can only be judge by Christ.

All promised blessings are made possible by Christ, through his atonement, and overcoming the world. He is our advocate. Our inheritance comes with and through him.

Feel the sense of belonging and have increased faith and hope. God loves you, the church wants and needs each person - voices, talents, skills, goodness and righteousness. We are, in whatever circumstance, members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. We are united in gospel and more alike than different. We are brothers and sisters.

God hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell upon the earth. (Paul) Every member has God-given talents to help build up the kingdom now. Disregard all notions and ideas that the single cannot serve or do not belong.

Choir: Rejoice, the Lord is King
