Recently I've found some amazing books. Seriously. I just finished Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta and I am in awe of this book. It was just so excellent. I really wish that there was more but I just felt like there was so much closure in the way it ended that I feel very content right now.
Title: Jellicoe Road
Author: Melina Marchetta
Summary: Taylor Markham was abandoned on Jellicoe road, the prettiest road she'd ever seen, when she was eleven and ten years later is confronted by her past when Hannah, the closest thing she has to family disappears, and Jonah, a boy she'd rather forget, comes back to town.
Pages: 418
Rating: 5 out of 5 Impalas
I have to admit I'm not a fan of books about real life and if I had known what I would have been confronted with in the book, drugs, death, abandonment, I might have picked another book but I am so glad I read this. It was fantastic. It's set in Australia which is really cool. I just loved Taylor, she's such a strong character and even though this book was 418 pages it felt like it was shorter. I couldn't put it down. I loved that this took me to two different times, Taylor's past and her present and the characters were so reach and delightful I really want to be their friends. Oh and I laughed out loud a couple of times with it and that is always a plus. Any book that combines sad, action, and funny in one? Is amazing. Give this a read!
In other news new Dollhouse tonight! I'm excited because it'll give me something to do since I'm sick. I have this weird throat thing that really sucks out loud. I also have two AP tests coming up and SATs so every minute that I'm not breathing, sleeping or going to the bathroom is spent with my face buried in my review books. Invigorating. I just want my boys back. But I think it's a good thing that it doesn't come back until the 23rd because that means I have time to study.
