Right, I'm sat around waiting for hellbound_heart so it's time for the Who Do I Want To See At Wacken game! (Note, the bands in this list will probably constitute less than one-fifth of the bands I ACTUALLY see. These are just the ones I'll be actively scheduling around ( Read more... )

I'm pretty sure it was Hammerfall who were at Bloodstock last year, when I got horribly distracted by some guys playing Twister - yes Twister - just in front of me. It was like that bit in Black Books where Manny notices the Subbuteo man in the locksmith's hair...

I am, at the moment, not being very proactive in thinking about who specifically I want to see. Winterfylleth, obviously, with a Winterfylleth shirt on, obviously - Watain I have seen but in a rather ungiglike situation, so I can't wait to see them on the ground, as it were...I'd happily give Dimmu a go based on ironlord's recent Hellfest review and also for old time's sake, as I last saw them in old Bradford Rios back in about '98! Coroner - surprisingly awesome, will give them a go again...Henry Rollins, definitely...and Ministry - absolutely no fucking way! Terrible, last time I saw them arsing about and singing bad covers. But yeah, I'll sort out an itinerary closer to the time - at least I've now got a tent and a sleeping bag! And I'm massively looking forward to the roadtrip (outraged comment from ironlord reminding me that it's alright for me, he's the designated driver in 3...2...1) ;)

*nodnods*Ministry I couldn't give a damn about, so I'm kind of hoping that they'll clash with someone I love and thereby reduce my critical-clash risks by one (there is nothing worse than realising that you've got an either/or on two bands when you love both of them!) Winterfylleth are on my "want to and almost certainly will see, but not pre-declared MUST see" list. Henry Rollins, much as I respect the guy, is a definite "no" for me because the idea of listening to a spoken word show while there is THAT MUCH METAL being played in the vicinity just feels wrong...

But yeah. This is going to be awesome, seriously. ^_^
