Upcoming shenanigans
Wow, busy few days coming up. I just managed to sneak under the wire and get the flyers for the next Iron Lord Promotions show (Northern Oak and Aonia at the Whitby Friendship Rowing Club on July 27th, if anyone is interested!) from the printers this morning, before the chaos begins... so I need to go round Whitby this afternoon sticking those in every shop that'll take them. Once that's done I've got a short story to edit and a half-edited one to finish for my boys at Black Library, I've got some people to message to find out if they would like some Norwegians, I need to make a round of cardamomnomnomnom cake because it's John's and Adam's birthdays on Thursday and I'll be seeing them at swordfighting, and I need to make sure I've got everything sorted out for tomorrow, when I am going....
...to York, to see Diamond Head(!!!) on the invitation of their support band Morpheus Rising. Remember that latter name if you please, because I'm trying to get them for Whitby in September and they are fucking fantastic, one of the strongest classic-style rock/metal acts I've heard in a long time. On top of which, they're apparently lovely blokes if they'll guestlist a promoter at a completely unrelated show just for saying she wants them to play for her, so thank you Morpheus Rising, you rock! \m/
And I should probably explain that comment above about asking people if they want Norwegians, not least because someone on here might be able to help. *g* So, there's this Oslo-based stoner doom band by the name of Tombstones, who are trying to put together a UK mini-tour. They've already got a slot at Valkyrian Festival in Hull on November 24th, and I've agreed to book them in Whitby the night before. This leaves them still needing a date on the 25th (Sunday), and more importantly, a show in London on the 22nd so they can play that one on their way in since they're going to have to fly in through London. I've already got a couple of leads on possible promoters who might be able to take them for the London show, but if anyone knows of any more, I'd be very glad to take suggestions.
(How did I end up unofficial booking agent for a Norwegian doom band? You tell me, but hey, this is all good fun. I just hope I can pull it off for them. *crosses fingers*)

PS Oh, and I found a pristine black crow's feather in the graveyard this morning while taking a shortcut to the printers. I feel loved. ^_^
