I have a Plan for the evening. It involves a hot shower, warm PJs, coffee, baking cookies and then eating as many as I want. And also, maybe, getting to the end of my overhaul on The Shakespeare Thing. On an ordinary weekend I think I would have achieved it-- I was on an amazing roll before we left on Saturday, but as we have already established, the weekend was the opposite of ordinary.
As it's a holiday week, and family stuff and unforseen-cross-state-trips-to-pick-up-car and such will be occupying my mind, my weekly game plan is not 5,000 words this week, but getting as much writing and/or editing as time and inclination permits. Hah!
If it comes to it and I don't feel like editing, I may watch Muppet Christmas Carol, but in full screen, because the "theatrical" wide screen version completely cuts out Belle's super sad and beautiful love song which I was horrified to discover last year.
I want to compile a list of all the really awesome Christmas episodes that have come out of fandom in the last handful of years to sit and watch in a batch some similar evening in the next few weeks. So far it looks like this:
Community: Comparative Religion (S1)
Community: Abed's Uncontrollable Christmas (S2)
The Big Bang Theory: The Bath Item Gift Hypothesis
Eureka: Oh Little Town
Leverage: The Ho Ho Ho Job
Doctor Who: A Christmas Carol
and maybe Chuck: Chuck vs. Santa Claus, but that one ends on a very un holiday-esque note, so I'm still deciding.
Am I missing anything crazy obvious and wonderful? Bear in mind, there is obviously a place for "old school" TV Christmas (Rudolph, etc) so this would be more of a "new school" night.
