The Plan begins apace

I got 5,000 "pre-Nano" words written for Camp Nanowrimo July. Not as many as I'd hoped, but hey, what else is new in my writing life? LOL More importantly, last night right before I finished up, I wrote an unplanned character beat that I really enjoyed. I've been slugging through tepid territory for a while, so coming up with something I love was kind of like a buoy in a storm.

(Buoy... Fun word!)

Yesterday was the first official day of Camp Nano, and despite some obstacles (the worst being a really bad mood I was wrestling with all day long), I'm proud to say I got the minimum done! If I can do the same for the next two days it will be a truly impressive feat, between high stress at the Day Job and family concerns.

Alas, I won't be "off" for the 4th of July weekend like I'd hoped, but unlike Memorial Day weekend, I'm not going to try and kill myself with word count. Instead, I'm sticking to a mere 2K per day.

Now I have to get out of this easy chair and get my butt up to Akron and my cubicle desk chair...
