Title: Should've Followed the First Rule
Author: Faith Harris
Summary: Inspired by a piece where Puck took Rachel to his fight club, here is a Puck/Kurt take on it. 500 words.

Puck is sitting in the driver’s seat looking like someone had just hit him with the car. “I can’t believe you actually screamed.”

Kurt sniffs, offended, and purposely not looking in Puck’s direction. He’s busy reapplying his lipgloss in the rearview mirror. “I can’t believe you took me there. As a date. What, did you expect me to get out there in my brand new sweater and…” Kurt makes a face of disdain at the words he’s about to use, “…throw down? Ugh.”

Puck isn’t really listening. “You sounded like the chicks in Scream man.”

“I mean, honestly, Puck, out of all the stupid ideas-”

“-I’ve never heard you hit a note like that.” Kurt puts away is lipgloss and faces Puck. Puck’s eyes are wide, but he’s staring at the steering wheel instead of at the teenager sitting next to him.

“Are you even listening to me?”

Puck turns to look at Kurt, with a grin that says that he wasn’t paying any attention to any of Kurt’s concerns, all of which, Kurt knew, were extremely valid. “Dude, you think I could make you scream like that in bed? Like, if your dad was out the house?”

Kurt’s expression is extremely dour. “Puck, you dragged me to a fight club to watch you get pounded into the ground.”

“But I won,” Puck points out stubbornly.

Kurt rolls his eyes. “Not the point, Puck. So not the point.”

“What’s the point then? Because all I’m hearing? Is whine, whine, whine, and you not be appreciative that I dragged your ass to something awesome.”

“Something awesome? A sample sale is awesome. A runway show is awesome. A night of cabaret is awesome. That was barbaric.” Kurt pouts, crossing his arms.  “You could have gotten seriously injured.”

“Please,” Puck snorts. “I’m the local champion, hands down.”

“Only because you’re so psychotic, other people in a fight club are scared to fight you!”

Puck blinked at him. “Uh, that’s kind of a good thing.” Kurt stared at him. “Look, you’re always complaining that post-football practice is totally out as a date time. So I wanted to show you why. That’s all. If you don’t appreciate it-”

“I thought it was because you were tired after practice! I understood!” Kurt protested. “You didn’t need to actually take me to the fight club! Really, it’s okay.”

Puck shook his head no. “You wanted to know, so now you know. And anyway, it was a chance to show off my guns.” A point which Kurt couldn’t counter, since Puck had spent the entire evening, up until a minute ago, in nothing but a pair of sweat pants.

“I don’t exactly get off on watching you get bruised and injured.”

“That sucks, dude,” Puck comments with a frown.

“How, exactly, does that suck?”

Puck put the key in the ignition and started the car. “Because I’m totally turned on.”

Kurt narrows his eyes, sighs, and then flops dramatically back against his seat. “I hate you, Noah Puckerman.”
