Alethia: fun times, good talks, old friends.

Hello!...um..probably no one, but stilll, I write.

Okay, so today I went to the youth group Alethia at East Market Church of God and lemme tell ya, it was some super fun stuff. By a strange happening, I was able to go with the wonderfull Kelly Ann Shubat, which was a great coincidence. I was able to talk to her about random cool stuff on the way up, even though I was hyper in an awkward way, which is wierd cuz I'm usually awkward in a really quiet way. Odd stuff, but still fun. So yeah, we got kinda confused on getting there but we eventually made it, and through the cold of the night, and hard finding of the doorway we braved the journey inside the this majestic welcoming sanctuary. When I got inside I saw quite the number of people that I had seen before and even some people who seem extremely framiliar, probably some went to school with my sister of something. But anyways, I got to talk to a couple of people, which was fun because before I hadn't been in the environment that I was open with them or talked at all and before it had been really awkward. Oh! and I also re-met my new friend Austin who I knew in middle school gym class. He called me "Kid who can't play basketball" which really anoyed me at the time (but everything anoyed me about people in middle school) and he seemed as if to say that he had totally turned around and I was soooo happy cuz he's really a great guy. I'm glad I was able to get to know him better despite past fault on both parties. Also, while I'm rekindling old friends, I saw Alex Zofchak, which was really awesome cuz he seemed sooo happy and sociable too! which usually is not characteristic of him (not a bad thing but I'm glad I was able to finally talk to him amicably). Durring praise and worship I was able to see that he really loves God and I am sooooo happy of how far he has come. I remember a time where, sadly, I thought it would be extremely hard to get him to the Lord and happy again but seeing that the Lord as brought him so far makes me soo happy. I think over all, one of the resoundingly awesome things about the evening is that I was able to see how many more people in my comunity have found the Lord and how deep they are in him and it truely was an uplifting thing. It was like seeing those shaded in shadow finally break through in my eyes. At first in worship I fely wierd standing and such but I was able to warm up suprisingly fast. Usually it takes a couple of weeks for me to open up just a little bit but this was a really welcoming and warm environment. Afterwards, we listened to parts of a special on tv about God and it was a really inovative aproach at getting stuff across. It showed me of how the Lord isnt just in the church but he is still, surprisingly, mentioned in the world. It seemed as if it had become so taboo to talk about God but this was on the news! Afterwards we had a debate about it, which I was totally a fish out of the water about but I loved the aproach! It was a way of getting everyone involved which I'm not used to with SWATs one person sermons. It was a welcomed changed, but I also like the sermon aproach too, for each their own and many people like each, I like both. So yeah, It was pretty cool, slightly chaotic, but still in the chaos they managed to uphold kindness and welcomingness. I almsot felt safe enough to interject, even though it's my first time. Over all I enjoyd it though, next time I will definatly have to get some of their coffee. Final word- Alethia is awesome, I recomend it and I will now be a regular.

Fun facts of today:
*I am finally learning absolutely what (their, there)s to use in diferent circumstances.
*Blood clots really fast, but not quite fast enough to outrun a boy with terrets from having a bloody nose.
*Joy Electric is an amazing elecrtonica Indie singing, Christian mix band. I could try to hook anyone up with their songs, if my computer alows.
*I totally am getting better with meeting new people, but still I think it depends on the situation.

Shout outs:
Austin Wolfe- Thank you so much for enviting be to Alethia, cuz you sorta did, but I sorta just told you I was comming.
Kelly Shubat- Thank you very much for taking me to Alethia tonight! I hope I didn't freak you out with my awkwardness or constant talking. I look forward to more Alethia and hanging out in the future, if your bust schedule alows.

final Descition- Great Day! I figured out a new place I will be going to every Thursday and now have two youth groups I plan on attending, because I know that is perfectly legal. So, great day, new Alethia, The End, now go! Get some sleep! save some world!

Sincerly,
Jon Owen
