 Chapter 8

Kurt led Sarah and Puck to his favourite bedding store at the mall and led them to the to the Egyptian sheet sets and started looking through the shelves of 1000 thread counts looking for the perfect bedding to add to his new room as he was calling it. Picking up a beautiful black set of; fitted sheet, flat sheet, quilt cover and pillow cases. Smiling lightly at Sarah who smiled brightly back from her perch on Noah’s back. Next he led them over to the throw pillows sections.
“Can you guys start trying to find silver throw pillows, I’ll be back in a second.” Kurt said going to grab a trolley. When he got back Puck and Sarah had a small pile of silver throw pillows stacked up ready for Kurt to look through. Also in the trolley were two large woollen throw rug perfect to throw over his couch and one that he could put on the floor, both had simple silver thread laced throughout them. Kurt started adding pillows to the trolley. After he had a dozen of them piled up he headed over to the Euro pillows and picked up three of them and black and silver cases for them.
“Come on guys that’s it for here.” Kurt led them to the register and them led them out to the car to put everything in. “Is there anything you guys need here?” Kurt asked as they closed the trunk. Both Puckerman siblings shook their heads negatively. So they all climbed into the car and drove off pulling up before they got back to Kurt’s house they were outside a hardware store. “You guys stay here I’ll only be a few minutes.” Kurt said jumping out of the car and returning five minute later with two paper bags.
Then they were on their way back to Kurt’s house. Before they arrived Kurt’s phone began to ring.
“Can you answer that Puck? I forgot my Bluetooth.” Kurt asked.
“Kurt Hummel’s phone, Noah speaking.” Puck spoke into the iPhone.
‘Puck!? What the hell are you doing with Kurt’s phone?’ Finn shouted down the phone.
“Dude chill out, Kurt’s driving so I’m answering his phone for him. What were you calling about?” Puck asked.
‘I wanted to talk to Kurt. Get him to call me back.’ Finn snapped hanging up on Puck.
Puck passed on the message and soon they were back at Kurt’s house. They each grabbed something to take into the house; Sarah was given the paper bags from the hardware store and the keys to unlock the house, Puck and Kurt carried the heavier stuff out of the trunk to bring in to the house.
Sarah opened the door and let them into the house before closing and relocking the door. The Puckerman’s followed Kurt down into the basement depositing there charges in a neat pile.
“So what can we do to help Kurt?” asked Sarah.
“Well I need to strip down the bed so can you guys do that while I run up to the garage quickly.” Kurt suggested afraid he was overstepping his bounds.
“Cool, you want them washed before we put them away?” Puck asked.
“Nah just fold them.” Kurt replied heading up the stairs.
When Kurt returned Puck was folding the sheets and Sarah was folding the pillow cases and in his hand was his dad’s cordless drill.
“Thanks guys, this is making things so much easier, remind me to call Carole later, could you?” Kurt asked putting the drill on the vanity and moving to help Puck with the folding the sheets and quilt cover. It took them 20 minutes to finish folding and packing the bedding away. Sarah began putting the new pillow cases on the pillows as Puck and Kurt made up the bed with the new black bedding. When the bed was finished it was still very modern looking. Kurt then entered his large walk in closet and brought out his treasure chest. Unlocking it he turned to look at the Puckerman siblings before opening the lid.
“Sarah, I’m not trying to be mean but you cannot touch anything in here. They’re too dangerous and they’re not toys. Puck you are to be very careful if you touch anything. Do you both understand?” Kurt asked his voice deadly serious.
“We can still look though can’t we?” Sarah asked curious as to what was in the chest.
“That’s fine and if you want a closer look at anything just let me know. Do we have a deal?” Kurt replied. Both Puckerman’s nodded so Kurt opened the lid and began pulling stuff out.
The first thing he removed was was wrapped in beautiful black and blue silk. He unwrapped it and revealed two beautiful katana’s which he laid on the bed. Next were two sets of beautiful wooden nunchaku last he pulled out and ebony box which he handled more delicately than he had any of the others. Puck saw a single tear track down Kurt’s face as he placed it on the bed undoing the clips that kept it closed. Inside was a pair of gleaming sai swords, which he stared at reverently for a moment. He drew himself together and went back to the chest pulling out some kind of wooden mounting frames which he sat on the floor.
“Sarah could you grab the paper bags for me? Puck the drill please?” Kurt asked the two as he moved the first mounting to a spot directly opposite his stairs.

By the time they were finished Kurt’s weapons collection was displayed on his walls and he was smiling like a loon. They all collapsed on Kurt’s couch in front of his large TV just relaxing.
“Thanks for helping me out with this guys. It’s making me feel better already having them back up.” Kurt said looking at them.
“So where’d you get all of these?” Puck asked indicating the weapons.
“My mum, she was big into martial arts and weapons training. The katana and nunchaku are hers but she bought me the sai swords on my last birthday before she died. I was training with smaller wooden versions when I was little. She told me not to forget all her training so until Finn moved in last year. I had to put them away, there was way too much of a chance hurting himself with them.”
“So have we heard from everyone? Are they coming tonight?” Puck asked changing the topic which he could tell was sensitive.
“Yeah everybody replied positively. They’ll be here around sevenish so I thought we could order up a heap of pizza’s but I haven’t got any snack stuff in the house so we might need to go get some before people start showing up. Do we want to head out?” Kurt asked.
“Sounds good.” Sarah replied standing up and moving to pull her shoes on.

Kurt, Puck and Sarah returned to the Hummel house with bags of chips, drink and lollies. Kurt had been adamant about getting healthy while Puck had wanted more classic unhealthy stuff. Sarah was the one who suggested half and half so that both options were available.
They got back to the Hummel house with Kurt and Sarah laughing at Puck’s milk moustache which he refused to wipe off on the basis that all super-villains need a good moustache. Suddenly Kurt paled dramatically. Carole’s car was pulled up in the driveway which meant Carole and probably Finn were inside. He had barely spoken to the two of them since the bedroom fiasco and he had been hoping to mostly avoid it all, he knew Finn wouldn’t bring it up in front of the club but with Carole there and his dad not there, he didn’t know what would happen. Kurt didn’t realise he was trembling until Puck took his hand in his and began soothingly rubber his inner wrist.
“Kurt? Are you okay?” Sarah asked from the backseat worried about how pale Kurt was and the shaking she could see.
Kurt suddenly realised that even if Finn did say anything about it Puck was there and so was Sarah, he had people who would support him.
“Yeah, just freaked out for a moment, but I’m okay.” Kurt said as colour returned to his cheeks. He turned the car off and they all hopped out.
They grabbed the shopping bags from the back and again designated Sarah to unlock the door. But before she could put the key in the lock the door was thrown open. Finn was standing there looking livid.
“What the hell is he doing here Kurt? Has he blackmailed you into something?” Finn yelled not noticing Sarah.
“Don’t yell at me Finn Hudson.” Kurt replied pushing past him. “Carole, lovely to see you, how are you?” Kurt asked when he found Carole in the kitchen.
“I’m fine Kurt? Your dad called and asked if I could come around and help you get some hot snacks ready for the glee party you are going to have. And you know I love working in the kitchen with you.” Carole explained as she moved back to the kitchen.

Carole, Kurt and Sarah prepared hot snacks as Finn and Puck sat at the table glaring hotly at each other.
“Puck?” Carole asked.
“Yeah Carole.” Puck replied standing and going over to her in case she needed help with anything.
“I was wondering if you would like me to take Sarah this evening so that you can just relax and it might be nice for your mother to have a night off. Us mothers need them sometimes.” Carole said with a smile.
“I’ll have to ask mom if that’s okay, but I think she’ll be alright with it.” Puck left the kitchen to call his mom and find out if it was okay for Sarah to go with Carole for the night.

Carole and Sarah had headed off after Puck had spoken with his mother. Finn was still giving Puck dirty looks but he and Kurt ignored Finn’s self-important attitude in favour of watching the Resident Evil movies.
“I love this game, it’s such a good stress relief after a bad day at school.” Kurt said to Puck as the heroes moved through the service tunnels of the Hive.
“Yeah but you have to agree that GTA is a better stress relief if only cause the characters are people rather than zombies.” Puck replied.
“Yes but if anyone found out how much I loved running over the people in that game they would start to worry. At least the objective of RE is to shoot stuff rather than GTA where you’re not supposed to just run around killing random people.” Kurt argued back.
They continued on like that for quite some time. Finn seemed to be getting angrier and angrier by the minute. Finally the doorbell rang and Tina, Mercedes and Artie walked in.
