He drew beautiful women in the Showa period. I really want a kitsune wife in kimono tattoo, this piece could be easily modified for that, but I don't know if I'd want to alter an existing image or commission a custom piece. :)

Okunoshima is a very small island off the coast of Hiroshima. During WW2 it was where Japan manufactured and experimented with poison gas. After the war, the gas factory was dismantled and the test rabbits released. Now the island just features a hotel, some ruins, a museum, some tennis courts, and hundreds of friendly, scruffy rabbits.

Commuting on our bikes is a routine for us now, and it's interesting how differently bicycling is perceived here. Almost everyone bicycles. Old men, old ladies, tiny children, students, mothers with kids piled in the baskets, everyone. The most common bike is a beat-up, rusting piece of crap with U-shaped handle bars and baskets. This month has been kind of hellish. Now we have a bit of a holiday, which is nice. It's called "Golden Week" and it's probably the second busiest holiday of the year in Japan, which means everything is crowded and expensive so we're staying here.
