Our guest book entry at Sunriver. It took up 5 pages:

A previous entry, no date, no name: "Whatever you do, don't open the trap door in the lower bathroom. Evil lurks there which never sleeps."

3-26-09. 4:30 arrived. After a quick survey of the house's layout, beds were claimed. "Shawn" put drawers on my bed. "Shena" cooked lasagna and we watched bad 80's videos. And Yoshimoto "Do What You Do." She hula hopes like a prodegy. We played a cereal box trivia game about things that are halves. We opened a blind. And Shawn hung from the staircase. BBQ chips are good. After dinner we enjoyed the hot tub and conversation. We dried off and enjoyed card games by the fire. Shawn and "Mike" looked in the trap door in the bathroom.

3-27-09. I told everyone I was sleeping until I couldn't sleep any more and I still woke up at 9:30! I was thinking noon, but I guess I didn't need it. I spent an incredibly tranquil hour out on the deck - the sun was comfortable and the birds lively. Once everyone got up, we made our plans and packed some food. We intended to explore some caves but found that endangered bats were using the caves as nurseries and they were closed to the public. Instead we drove down a long, snow spotted road to the Deschuts river and walked over a bridge and along a trail to see the waterfalls. Shawn, Shena, and Mike climbed a big rock while I watched from below. There's no way my out-of-shape girth could have made it up and down safely. After much debate and an episode of What-Not-to-Wear, we went into Bend to find a place to eat. We drove through the entire town, counting 3 Subways, 3 Wendy's, and 3+ McDonald's all on the same road! We were all exhausted when we got home and Mike and Shena and I got in the hot tub. We talked about random things, idly wondering when our other friends would arrive. Cars started passing faster and headlights came towards us. But they moved on. We joked that our friends got lost. But, after many text messages, they finally arrived. Their pounding on the door scared us! We chatted for a bit, and finally went to bed. I'd been in bed for about 15 minutes when I heard some weird rattling downstairs. I checked on our laundry, but every things looked ok. I didn't hear it again and am back in bed, I am pooped! Tomorrow we've got lots planned.

3-28-09. I was the first one up again. It was raining, so I was at the dining room table eating my breakfast when Mike staggered by fromteh living room to the bathroom. The pounding and screaming scared me so bad I hit my teeth with the spoon. Mike came out of the bathroom, slamming the dorr and ran towards me, "Quick! We've gotta get upstairs!" He was totally panicked and the sounds had scared me, so we went into the livingroom to wake George and Finestein. Their eyes were hardly opened but the bathroom door was being pounded on and horrible screeching and wailing sounds were muffled behind the door. They moved quickly upstairs where Shawn and Shena were sleeping. we woke them up and started moving dressers and chairs and the master bed to block the stairs. We all crashed on the guest bed, tired and scared by Mike's frantic pacing and muttering. George and Finestein fell back asleep and Shawn and Shena tried to get Mike to describe what he saw but he was still too agitated. They've fallen asleep, too. And Mike is crouched in a corner of the landing chewing his lip, twitching and whimpering. I know I heard those things from the bathroom, but I don't know what could have terrified him so badly. And there's been no sounds for the last half hour. How long can we wait? All our phones are downstaris - no one gets reception anyway- and the master-room phone was taken downstairs by Shena the first night. I'll wait another hour or so and make Mike tell us what he saw.
This is bad. I am so scared! I don't know what exaclty is going on, but Shawn and Shena woke up, they hadn't had breakfast and it was way past lunch. Mike had hardly calmed down. His lips were bleeding. He was freaking them out more than what was downstairs. Shawn kept Mike back, George helped and Finestein and Shena pulled the furniture from the stairs. I tried to get them to stop. They hadn't heard those sounds, didn't see Mike's face when he came out of the bathroom. But they didn't listen. I started moving the furniture they removed into the bedroom, blocking the bathroom door. George, Finestein, Shawn and Shena went downstairs, talking about what they were going to have for lunch. And then they began screaming. Mike and I looked down the staris where Finestein's torso slid past followed by a splash of blood. George, Shena and Shawn started back up the stairs, Shena sobbing and Shawn pushing at her. but it grabbed his leg and just ripped it off. Mike and I let George and Shena in the bedroom and we all moved the bed against the door. Shena was totally hysterical. She's finally fallen asleep - she just cried for the last hour. We've moved from the bedroom to the closet. I'm not sure
