You know.....I am a self-potrait photographer for more than 27 years and one of my "things" is the romantic imagery of the Pictoralists and so I have a lot of work in my white, flowy dress that are un-apologetically romantic since around 2006.....there is a German woman photographer who I have been following for a long time now and we are "friends" on FB. She has created beautiful landscape photos with her Hasselblad until this year.....suddenly, she has started creating self-portraits. No problem at all and I always think every artist should at some point...however....for those of you who know me and especially my flowy, white dress photos...whose work does this look like to you?
While I can not control what people do and again, if we didn't know each other's work, then I could surely say that this is just sheer coincidence. But is it???? I am a bit pissed off, to be honest. Am I making too much of it? She is a bit of a more known photographer than I am so if these photos give her a lot more recognition than me, what the HELL am I doing wrong?
I made a post on FB NOT mentioning her at all but just saying basically that I have been creating romantic, flowy white dress self-portraits for more than 27 years and showingm any examples. That's all. I am pissed. Am I to believe she is innocent in doing these without my influence?
