Travel plans
I don't know whether I've brought this up in a post during the previous months, but I'm going to South-Africa for an entire month.
I know it sounds mad, and it truly is. Going away for an entire month, traveling the coast, going from one youth hostel to another. But I'm really looking forward to it, though I have to admit that it is rather scary. I love traveling, but I'm so terrible with booking, reserving, planning hotels and routes and keeping all of my luggage in one place that there's bound to go something wrong. And South-Africa is not exactly the safest place on earth, but still, this is supposed to be the trip of my lifetime and I'll be damned if it won't.
For the past few days I've been reserving bus tickets, cars, buying a big rucksack (a Jack Wolfskin, beautiful burned orange and yellow) and copying useful stuff in my specially bought South Africa notebook. I think I'll start collecting things tomorrow and see if I can get everything to fit in the bag. Oh, and I also bought a digital camera, so you'll find a lot more photos on my lj from now on.
I don't know if I'll be able to post something when I'm there (I'm leaving this Tuesday), but I'll certainly try to let you know how I'm doing and whether I've been mugged or have found the most beautiful bracelet or seen the most wonderful whale. I'll be back on October 1st.
If anyone has some useful tips or South-Africa suggestions, by all means let me know.
