I haven't posted in a while so I would like to talk about my day yesterday

cross-posted from my Facebook NOTES

It started out with us getting a later start to the day then I had wanted to (I overslept big time!). But we left by 10:30am to take my mom back to Allentown. She had been staying with us for the past week since Ariel was done with school but doesn't start up at Goddard for the Summer until the 8th. I digress though.

BOY WAS THERE TRAFFIC! Due to the WW II show at the Reading Airport this weekend there was major traffic delays everywhere! It took us about a little over an hour and a half to get her home going some strange fandangled ways that only Michael knows (the ride normally takes about 45-50 mins when Michael drives...an hour when I drive...*LOL*).

We dropped off my mom and Aurora and Michael, Ariel and I were on the road again heading up to Hickory Run State Park to go hiking. The plan was to go to Boulder Field first and then over to Hawk's Falls for a small hike. Ariel loved Boulder Field since she is a rock fan. She collects rocks so for her this was spectacular to see an entire field of huge rocks! I took pics of Michael and I walking around Boulder Field and they had a good time.

Next we drove over to the trail head of Hawk's Falls. Ariel did good on this short hike over to the waterfall. We hung out there for about 45 minutes when I decided I needed a snack. I went into my bag to pull out the banana I had packed for myself when I heard a "SPLASH" and look up to find Ariel in the water screaming for help and Michael reaching to get her...next thing I know Michael is in the water pushing Ariel to the shallow side by the rocks. I threw down my banana, camera, and bag and go to help pull Ariel out of the water all the while watching Michael going under the water because he kept accidentally swallowing some in his haste to get Ariel out. What an ordeal! Ariel got out fine, Michael got out fine but the water was terribly cold and the both of them were soaked head to toe! OMG talk about emotional overload! Anyway, they both sat in the sun for a bit and Ariel finally calmed down and shared my banana with me. I took pics of the both of them soaking wet because by then we were laughing about what had just happened. We left shortly afterwards.

Next stop was Wal-Mart. Michael bought himself new shorts (he had packed a spare set of sneakers and socks because he figured he probably would have gotten his feet wet at some point crossing the creek and he had brought another t-shirt because of changing before dinner)...he also had to buy Ariel underwear only because we planned on stopping at my in-laws' place to get Ariel changed into some other clothes she has there...Luckily, I had packed Ariel a spare set of sneakers/socks too for the same reason as Michael but never planned on her getting entirely wet of course. *sigh* After they all got changed at my in-laws' we went to dinner - Michael, Ariel and I. We had a good laugh about the events of the day.

Once dinner was over we went and picked up Aurora and went home. Michael definitely gets DADDY HERO POINTS and he was "rewarded" properly by me before going to sleep. ;)
