A few things worth mentioning before going to bed...

Two years ago, I gave birth to my youngest daughter, Aurora Elizabeth! Happy Birthday, my Love Dove!

It was an ok day for me overall until I got out of work. I had our secondary car (a 1994 Dodge Shadow) today and while driving home I noticed the engine was really sounding "knocky" for the lack of a better word. Then I heard this "POP" sound and the car shut off on me while I was going about 67 miles per hour! ACK! I was in the left lane and almost got hit from merging traffic coming in on the left side and then almost rear-ended and lastly practically side-swiped from someone trying to pass me while I was getting over in the right-hand lane. UGH! There really wasn't any shoulder on this particular stretch of highway, but I had to pull over. I was shaking. Then I called my husband who was already waiting for me at Chuck E. Cheese with my mom, Ariel, and Aurora all in the van with him. Double Ugh. I tried to start the car and it did turn on so I was able to go to the next exit and pull over on the shoulder of the road which had more space than where I currently was.

Michael was there moments later and he was able to start the car again. He drove it to a nearby garage that we frequent and left the keys and a note for the owner. If the repair is going to cost more than $300 then we've decided that it would not be getting fixed but getting dumped. We really are in a pickle because we need to have a second car! I don't know what we're going to do. I mean, we just bought our new van in June. *sigh*

Anyway, we were able to still have a good night at Chuck E. Cheese with Aurora and Ariel and came home and gave her our gifts. Ariel got her 14kt Gold hoop earrings - her first pair! Michael and I gave her a "my size" dancing Aurora doll that sings when you dance with her. See it here: http://www.boscovs.com/StoreFrontWeb/Product.bos?itemNumber=33169

It's the same size as Aurora (Aurora being at 31 inches and the doll at 30 inches) and it was a hoot watching her dance with the doll. Too cute for words really.

It ended up being a good night but man, what a scare I had with the Shadow. NOT FUN!

Tomorrow is Faire - Chivalry & Romance weekend. Michael and I get to renew our vows as per our annual tradition. *squee* We will also be kidless! I so can't wait to go to Faire WITHOUT our girls. I love taking them but need the break sometimes. Grown up time is so much fun! Also, I must be insane because I am planning a SINGLES MIXER for some .netters tomorrow. WTF was I thinking trying to set this up? The ages of these singles range from 21 up to 60+something. Why the old folks are coming, I have no friggin' idea. This is going to be a disaster I'm sure of it. Oh well.

On Sunday, we'll be skipping out on Faire because we'll be having Aurora's 2nd Birthday party at our home for our families. We'll be having it outside this year since the weather will be nice. I can't wait to see everyone and hope Aurora has a nice day.

I will post pictures on Monday night.
