Before I go to bed...

I am in the mood to post something so here goes:

July 1-8 OCNJ Beach House Vacation

Jul 1 - We arrived Saturday around mid-day and it was lovely outside. We opted not to do much though as it flet like it took an eternity to get there with all the traffic we incurred along the way.

Jul 2 - Sunday I took Ariel to the beach right after breakfast. I'm glad I did too because Mon, Tues, and Wed were washouts with the rain and such. The rest of Sunday was more R&R.

Jul 3 - Monday we went to the Shore Mall (I think) because Michael actually had to do some work. So while he worked, Ariel and I looked for some 4th of July clothes to buy. Normally, I get us sorta' matching outfits each year. This year I totally forgot to. Anyway, we didn't find anything at that mall. So once Michael was done working then we went shopping elsewhere. We ended up at another mall, the name escapes me now, but we were able to find Ariel a really kewl Minnie Mouse top on semi-annual clearance sale for only $2.50! SCORE! Then it was off to Target to buy some shorts for her and a top for me. All in all I think I spent only $16 for the both of us. Later on in the day, it was a craft frenzy! Michael's mom and aunt got Ariel a wagon to ride in for the Annual Bicycle Parade which is in the morning of the 4th. They, along with some of Michael's cousins, decorated the wagon in a fishy theme and then the plan was to have Ariel don her Finding Nemo stuff to ride in it. She wasn't officially entered so it didn't matter too much but still was fun for everyone involved.

Jul 4 - It was a lovely morning (Thank goodness) and Ariel was ready to go in her Finding Nemo hat, t-shirt, and Ariel shorts! She looked oh so cute! Then we waited for the parade to come. They came and we waited until the division for 4 Years and Under and hopped in with the parade and walked down to Michael's grandmother's beach house which was about 5 or 6 blocks away from where we were staying. We had fun. Ariel enjoyed tossing the candy out to the kids on the sidewalks. The afternoon and evening though were rained out. So no fireworks for us this year. There was some going off far in the distance but nothing worth staying up for.

Jul 5 - Well since it was supposed to be another rainy day, I told Michael that we should go to the Atlantic City Aquarium to check it out. So we did. It was very small but quaint and they had a touch tank which Ariel enjoyed. Oh and there was a tank with all the fish from Finding Nemo in it...that was pretty kewl too. Later we headed to the boardwalk and visited with
castlecelt and her son, Vince, as well as lady_emerson and her clan. It was raining on the boardwalk but we still managed to have some fun and get Ariel on some rides (Thanks, Trish for the tickets!).

Jul 6 - Today was girl's day out! My mother-in-law, Michael's grandmother, myself, and Ariel went to Cape May and got there around 11am. Our plan was to have a "Tea" style lunch and then go for a trolley ride, which we did. It was quite enjoyable even in the lousy weather. During the afternoon, Trish came over for about an hour long visit which was really nice. Later on in that day, Michael and I would meet a couple of friends of ours from .net at their house and then go out to dinner. Well the casinos were still shut down (Damn NJ Govt) but we still went to Atlantic City for dinner and some window shopping. We had a fabulous dinner at the Borgata's Buffet. Simply wonderful. It would have been even better had I been able to eat normally and not be on this gestational diabetes diet and all. But they did have some sugar-free desserts so I was able to eat some kind of "sweet" in the end. Outstanding meal! Definitely worth every penny!!

Jul 7 - It was a bright sunshiney day, so Michael, Ariel and I hit the beach for a couple of hours right after breakfast. I allowed myself to get burned so that way I could take home some color. *LOL* Serves me right for not using any kind of sunscreen, but at least I didn't peel...I just turned brown which was what I was looking to have happen anyway. Then we went out to dinner at the Boardwalk and afterwards - way afterwards as it was 10pm - we saw Pirates of the Caribbean: Dean Man's Chest. WooHoo! Awesome flick. The best part for me was coming out of the theater and smelling the salt air of the ocean. That was just too kewl.

Jul 8 - Going back home was a chore. There was an accident somewhere so Michael had to take an alternate route which was so much longer. I didn't mind nor did Ariel as we pretty much slept the whole way home. *grins* We got home around 2pm.

That's all I'm in the mood to post about right now. There's some baby related stuff I have to get off my chest but that can wait. OH and pics from our vacation? Yes, of course I have some.
