B-b-b-boredom!

So, I just finished watching the film version of "South Pacific."  It's not as depressing as everyone says it is...maybe because I knew it was coming.    (And a side note for Lt. Cable...leave your shirt off, but stop singing...please.)

If I get the part that I want, I'll be on stage long enough to make an impression, but I won't be needed at many rehearsals...and I won't have to sing (which will make Dr. Anders thrilled).

Anyway, I wanted to post this.  Kay put it up on her journal ages ago and I've been meaning to fill it out.  (Again, continuing to procrastinate from cleaning my room.)

What sort of profession in the wizarding world would you choose and why?
I would love to say an Auror, but that would be a Muggle equivalent to a police officer, and I could never see myself doign that.  I guess probably a professor...or something in the Ministry that would help the great wizarding world.  I'm definitely not a political type, though.  I enjoy entertaining and educating others, so being a professor would probably work well.  I think I'd prefer Transfiguration.

If you could teach one class at Hogwarts, what would it be and why?
Again, probably Transfiguration.  I like the idea of being able to transform objects...it is something that would be very useful in the real world.  Charms wouldn't be bad, either.  I want a classroom that is very hands-on...reminiscent of when Harry taught Dumbledore's Army how to battle.  I want magic to be used in my classroom.  I prefer a practical approach compared to reading.

This year, The TriWizard Tournament is being held once again and you're of age. Do you put your name in the Goblet? Why or why not?
I would not.  The idea of eternal glory is quite tempting, but that is not the way I wish to go about it.  I would prefer to achieve eternal glory by writing a new novel or becoming an entertainment star...not by fighting off dragons or merpeople.  Combat was never my strong point.

If you could choose your animagus form, what would it be and why?
I'm not sure.  My gut instinct says something that is capable of flight because I have always wanted the ability to soar above trees.  However, I also like the idea of being a land animal, capable of running over fields.  I would probably round out by suggesting a fox or a sparrow.

What HP character do you identify with most and why?
I would probably have to say Neville Longbottom.  Though I am not a klutz, nor obsessed with Herbology, I have a thirst to prove myself in nearly every situation and I will make every attempt to do so.  This thirst is quite similar to what Harry feels at the start of his first year at Hogwarts.  However, unlike Harry, I am not prone to breaking the rules unless prompted to do so for very important reasons...like rescuing someone.

What would you see if you looked into the Mirror of Erised?
I would see myself surrounded by my family, friends, and admirers.  I would have achieved success in theatre and, though I would not be a household name by any means, people would still come to see my performances.  There would be a loving, dedicated husband and joyful children, several pets and a comfortable home, financially secure.  I would be able to perform and my husband would have a job that he enjoys.

If you won a million dollars, how would you spend it?
I would use the majority of it to pay off school debts and to secure my future.  With the money leftover, I would save some for the future...ideally on a future honeymoon with my beloved in Walt Disney World.  Quick splurges might include a tiny vacation or get-away...some place like Cedar Point or Busch Gardens.  A carefree time.

What was your ideal job as a kid? Has that changed? What is your ideal job now?
Growing up, I always wanted to be a teacher.  Throughout the years, I find-tuned that to an elementary teacher.  I saw myself teaching preschool.  However, after a few years of open realization, I have discovered that I love theatre too much to enjoy it only as a hobby.  My career goals now turn towards being able to perform and educate for theatre education.  I still love children and wouldn't mind educating them.  I recall going to see children's performances at theatres when I was in grade school.  I could see myself doing that.

If you were able to invent one spell, potion, or charm, what would it do, what would you use it for or how would you use it, and what would you call it?
I would probably like to invent a potion of some kind that would allow you to have stress-free moments without any horrible side-effects.  Not a drug that lets you think you are stress-free, but one that allows you to forget your stresses so that you can fully concentrate on your work without panicking.  I am unsure of the name.

If you were to face a boggart, what would it turn into? And what does it turn into when you throw the counter-spell, Riddikulus?
My boggart would be fairly similar to Molly Weasley's...seeing beloved people die.  Except mine would probably be my friends as opposed to my family.  I would say that my boggart would be my friends enjoying myself and not including me, but I have experienced that much too often.  Upon the counter-spell, my beloved would spring back to life and hug me dearly.

What do you look for in a friend?
Trust, support, some sort of dedication.  Honesty.  Humor.  A bit of spontaneity never hurt anyone.  Mainly, I look for people who treat you like one of their family...people you feel that you could go to the ends of the earth for.  Similar interests is a plus, but not necessary.

What trait most annoys you about other people?
Just typical ignorance/stupidity.  I can be guilty of it as well, but sometimes it shocks me how incredible ignorant people are.  General manners have all but disappeared.  No one offers to the help the man struggling with a heavy box, or offers to hold the door open for a lady carrying many packages.

What do you think are your top five abilities or qualities?
I have more optimism (most days) than anyone you are ever likely to meet.  I am extraordinarily dependable and willing to lend a hand.   I am generous of many things.  I consider myself to be an excellent communicator (because I can define situations accordingly).  I am also quite supportive.

What do you think are your top five weaknesses or worst qualities?
I tend to be too generous at times, I have a wandering imagination (that is slowly subsidding), I judge more often than I tend to, I do not speak my mind nearly enough and most times I am slow to act upon.

Define in your own words the following key traits:

Courage: the strength of heart to continue on

Loyalty: the support you give to someone, standing by their side as if they were your brother, even when there are no personal benefits you can reap.

Intelligence: applying your personal knowledge appropriately to a give situation

Ambition: the desire to see your dreams become a reality, no matter what stands in your way

Wow...long survey.

But I must go, for Dennis has just uploaded AP Greek Sing online and I must fly away to watch it again and again because I love my boys so much!!!
