OK...I've still got 19 days left, but I am SO excited for the Great Lakes Medieval Faire this year. It's going to be girls' day out this year...and hopefully for the entire weekend. "A Midsummer Night's Dream -- A Medieval Fantasy" Could that theme be any cooler? I mean, aside from the fact that Robin Hood is still going to be there...and that they added Neverland with Peter Pan (which is anything but medieval, but I won't argue).
I refuse to be late this year. I am going to be there early enough to see the Merry Men Fight Show/Combat Chess and the Robin Hood Stunt Show. This faire is just the coolest thing ever. It's set right in the middle of the forest. There is also no cell phone reception. Planned or coincidence? hehe!!
Oh, and the best news of all...the cast list is up online for the faire...the same Robin Hood is going to be back!!! *screams in fangirlish delight* Oh, yes!! Oh, so happy!
You see this gorgeous man...good sir Robin Hood? Yep...he's coming back.
*squeals again*
Well, Katie and I are getting a head start this year. After last summer, we decided that it is much more fun to go to these when you are fully dressed. We both have bohemian-type skirts to wear and we just found a website that shows you how to make DUCT TAPE CORSETS. How cool!! Now all I need is a chemise or some kind. Preferably not white since my skirt is white. I can't wait to make this corset. If I can't afford to get the authentic one like Leslie, then I'm going to make a half ass one that is going to be amazing. hehe!!
So, when I told Katie that good sir Robin of Locksley was coming back (she remembers him from last year), she said that we should ask him to sign our corsets. Laughing, I imagine us going up to him and asking...
Me: "Oh, good sir Robin Hood, wouldst thou please sign thy name on my corset?"
Katie: "With thy sharpie?"
And so the impatient countdown begins.
"And it's all for me grog,
me jolly, jolly grog!
It's all for me beer and tobacco.
For I spent all me tin
on the lassies drinking gin.
Far across the desert ocean I must wander."
