Who knew??

So, first, the ENTER key on my keyboard is sticking and irritating...but that's not the point.

Jessie slept over my house on Wednesday night and we had a blast!  We spent three hours making a poster for the Indians Game on Thursday.  It was supposed to rain, so our sign said: "Can't stand our thunder?  Run for cover!"  Our seats at the game were eight rows behind home plate.  (Thank you, Uncle Eddie!)  We got baseball hats and got on the Jumbotron twice!  And we won!  Yay for the Tribe!

Thursday was Mike's 21st birthday.  I gave him four Darkwing Duck comic books among the Godzilla book I funded earlier.  He enjoyed himself.  :)  We met up with Matt, Katie ("Priscilla", Bridgid, Katie, and company at UDF at 10 to celebrate Katie ("Priscilla")'s graduation and Mike's birthday.

Katie ("Priscilla") and I were planning to watch "Robin Williams: Live on Broadway" at our sleepover.  We invited Bridgid and Katie to join us at my house to watch it.  We had a pile of snack food (which we all really needed) and watched it together.

I had been talking to Katie about Bath and Body Works and how we might not be getting many hours and how textbooks are going up and I could use more money to pay for expensive books.

Anyway, I had been toying with the idea of taking dance classes over the summer (preferably jazz) so I can start building a background and more knowledge for Disney in two years.  So, I got the electronic phone book and started calling places.

One place I called was the Arlene Cassara School of Dance and Theatre.  I was talking to the girl about classes and Disney and wanting to go into children's theatre.  She suggested  I give the Horizon Activities Center a call because she used to teach drama there for kids.

So I call on a whim.

The lady I spoke to...we spent about twenty minutes going over my educational and professional background, as well as working for LCR and having a part-time job this summer with very little hours that isn't in my field of study and not getting in touch with any other company that offers children's theatre for the summer.  We also talked about Horizons and the lady who owns it wanting to bring more theatre into the center and looking for grants and such.

What does she suggest I do?

Fill out an application to work part-time at the Horizon Activities Center.  She wants me to send my application directly to her and she said that maybe I could help the owner bring more theatre into the program.

Who knew??

When I go to work tomorrow, I'm going to talk to Dana and see what the odds would be of moving me to nights and weekends only.  (Ought to see if it would be even possible.)

work, theatre, summer
