[The moment Desmond see Shaun's face on his Dreamberry, he knows he's loads of troubles: his dream showed up on the network. Despite the embarrassment he feels, he returns Shaun's glare with a small smirk. He can't let the historian know he's a bit traumatized by this dream]

You know, I think you looked scarier in a short skirt.

[Desmond is pretty sure he has, but Shaun is welcome to try and change his mind about it.

Still the quiet 'oh' makes the novice shifts uncomfortably, racking his mind for a place where he can hide until Shaun forgets all about it.]

Hum, yeah. So...people with pointy hats and lizards, huh? That's telling a lot about my sanity, no?

[Come on Shaun, it's not like he wanted to dream of you after all.]

[Desmond runs a hand over his face, irritated with the historian's attitude, not entirely understanding this cold shoulder treatment.]

Oh, come on. It's not like I have control on what I dream of, Shaun.

[Desmond gives the historian a half heartfelt glare, secretly relieved that he hasn't alienated one of the few people from his world. And then he rolls his eyes at Shaun, returning the smirk]

With a voice like his? Not a chance, man. You're much less manly than him.

[Okay...comparing manliness is a bit weird, he'll admit. At the mention of Chloe, Desmond leans closer to the screen, his smirk widening.]

Oh, wouldn't you want to know, huh?

Your pitch is higher and you tend to whine a lot. You fit better in the role of the wife Shaun, admit it.

[And at that, Desmond's smirk widens, his eyes lighting up with amusement]

Don't twist my words to your advantage, Shaun. I never said that those are the requirements to a good wife, I just said that it made you a better wife to Drake than me. My preference for a woman are certainly nowhere near his.

[That's technically not entirely true, since they both like strong-willed blonds, but Shaun doesn't need to know that.]

From books and other people's memories. I doubt you have the right interrogation techniques that would work on Chloe.

Desmond can't help but snort there]

Says the guy that didn't get passed first base with his last girlfriend. And I know enough of Chloe to know that those techniques are most likely not going to work on her.

[Desmond relaxes as he sees Shaun wincing, knowing this one was below the belt. He offers a small smile to the historian]
