[The camera angle shows a clear view of the inside of a front loading dryer. Through the clear, if slightly linty, plastic on the front you can see a steak sitting inside. It looks rather raw. Almost oozing, really

[Eddie shakes his head, and reaches over and tries to pluck the communicator from Victor's hands,] Oh no. You created a mess, you clean it up. That's how this works. You're taking responsibility for this.
[This, on a very small level, was the point he was looking to prove.] You got permission to do the whole thing. Start to finish. So roll up your sleeves and get on with it. [He wasn't angry, but was definitely stern.]
[Victor lets Eddie take his journal, but he looks obviously unhappy.] This is most indecent! The steak remains steaming. If the experiment were to be truly completed, it may need to remain in there for a number of days. Perhaps then it would be complete.
[Victor was very close to crossing his arms, but put his hands in his pockets instead. Cleaning up the dryer! What a ridiculous notion. That would have been disgusting.]
I think you can see that it's cooked. [He opened the door when the dryer stopped and picked out a piece of the meat.] If you want to keep it for a few days, I don't think it'll make any difference to do it in your room, where it's not affecting anyone else.
[He thrust the scrubbing brush at Victor again,] People will want to use this, so you've got to make it just like it was when we came in, as you made it like this.
[Even so, he leaned over and flicked the switch at the wall,]
And now it's off. I'll get you some soap and water. [He went to the sink and found a bowl used for washing things in, then filled it with water and a little soap, then left it next to Victor.] Clean it. I want it spotless. You wanted to do this, these are the consequences.
Yes, although- [Victor pauses. He can't think of another reason why he shouldn't have to clean out the dryer. Not a good reason, anyway. He didn't think "the dryer is disgusting" was going to get past Eddie.]
You planned this, did you not? [Victor said, looking at the bucket.] This was your intent in allowing the experiment?
I need not these gloves of rubber. [Victor sighed, kneeling in front of the dryer. He didn't like doing this on the principle of it. The meat wasn't pleasant, but he'd dealt with far worse things while creating his creature.]
I am starting to think that you, sir, are a somewhat cunning warden. [Victor wet the scrubbing brush and set about trying to get some of the goo out of the dryer.]
Am I? [Eddie half thought he was too, and was a little wobbly on whether that was okay or not, but he was fairly sure he could justify all of this later, so would continue to do so.]
It's nothing I wouldn't do myself - me and Jane made scones [only half a blush there,] a while back, and we didn't leave the kitchen until it was how we'd left it.
That is the kitchen. [Victor said, flicking a few chunks of steak into the bucket. They floated.] I quite imagine that few would use this machine. What purpose has it? Clothes dry fast enough.
[He set back to scrubbing. Some of that steak was sticky.]
No, but the point is it's there for communal use, and if people want to use it, they should be able to use it. [Eddie peered at the chunks of steak and grimaced,] Without having to worry about it being full of meat chunks.
[he paused.] Another consequence of your actions is that I'm now going to have to explain this to others. Any ideas on what I should say, Victor?
[Eddie pretty much had a half decent plan of what to say himself, but was impressing the point of taking responsibility for things upon Victor.]
They could have used this thing for experiments. [Victor mutters under his breath, but he continues scrubbing at the machine. There's a lot of little steak bits in there.]
You will say that it was an experiment, as it was? [Victor pauses, looking at Eddie.] Is that not the truth?
[He thrusts a scrubbing brush off camera,] Victor, get cleaning.
[And back to everyone else,] I'll explain later.
[SPAM]
Seriously, Victor, get cleaning that off.

I do not believe that is my role upon the barge. I work in the infirmary, as you well know.

[Victor took the scrubbing brush, but didn't move to do anything with it.] I do not know if they will want to use it. It is now a machine of science.

[Eddie placed the steak carefully back in the plastic bag he'd brought it in.]
The point is, part of doing any experiment is taking responsibility for the results. Even if those results are just a massively messy dryer.

This is most flawed. [He looks at the brush.] This machine uses electricity. We cannot expose it to water.

We put wet clothes in there.

No, my intent in allowing it was that it was something you wanted to do, and it didn't do anyone any harm.
Well, it won't, once the dryer is cleaned. [He gave Victor an encouraging smile,] I can probably find you some rubber gloves if it helps.
