People who call themselves "asexual" because they balk at the thought of having sex with another person, but who have a healthy sex drive and no problems masturbating are just people with issues (self-esteem, intimacy, trust, body image, etc) they don't want to deal with.

Well, it's sometimes easier for me if I think of something sexual, but in general it usually works whether I'm thinking about sex or the library books I need to return or nothing at all. For me it's pretty much just mechanical process --> result.

At the risk of TMI, [masturbation talk]I do that all the time. I just put on some music and listen to that, or start to plan my shopping list, or think about what I have to do that day and compose emails in my head. Masturbation has always felt more like maintenance than sex to me.

May this nonnie ask you how you do it? To put it in TMI way, [masturbation]I'd like to be able to take advantage of masturbation as stress relief, since few other things work for me as well as wanking does.

Of course, that's fine.
[Spoiler (click to open)]I use it for stress relief too, mostly. What I normally do is go into my bedroom, draw the curtains and put on some music or something mindless on iPlayer. Then I sit down on my bed and begin to touch myself on the area around my labia majora before beginning to touch my vulva. This is usually enough to make me physically aroused but I don't think about anything to get me in the mood

[more fapping talk]I'm not asexual and do often have sexual fantasies when I wank, but depending on the day I can think of it as either maintenance (like brushing teeth/showering/exercise) OR as sex. Definitely stress relief sometimes too. Relaxing before sleep etc.
Anyway, I have noticed that difference with fapping by hand vs vibrator, too. I love my vibrator dearly, and have kind of gotten out of practice with doing it by hand (ow, my wrist, lol), but when I go back to it now and then I often find that it's a deeper, more satisfying, more diffuse orgasm that I get out of it. I'm not sure why; I almost never actually penetrate my vag with anything, even fingers, when I wank, so it's not that. Maybe something more organic about it than with mechanical assistance.
I ain't giving up my vibrator any time soon, but the difference is really interesting.
(now, if only I could figure out how to orgasm from manual stimulation during sex, or oral sex, or anything...)

Sometimes it's maintenance for me, but even during those times I have to be thinking of sex to accomplish it. Which can be kind of a pain, honestly, but I never even considered it could be done another way.

It's about the physical release to me. Mostly I think about the technical details of how to achieve my goal, along the lines of "maybe a bit more to the left and press down more, okay, now I can feel it, orgasm getting closer aaaaaand that's it. good work, self, now, what was that about the library books?"

Okay, what if the fantasies have near to zero sexual content?

How do you (general) masturbate without thinking of ANYTHING sexual. I have never understood this.

That seems like an incredible talent to me. If I'm not thinking about sex, there's no way it's happening.

It's the exact same for me.
