The list of ships I don't get is much, much, much longer than the list of ships I do get. I learned to live and let live very quickly when I started into fandom because otherwise I'd be in a constant state of "WTF?! NO!"

If you have a definition of DA, you should include NA (new anon) and SA (same anon) as well.

Explaining canon

I'm bored so here's a pointless question.... what's the strangest thing people have come up with to explain something that happened on your favorite show? - things that could much more easily be explained by the fact that it's a TV show or a movie for that matter... bonus points if the explanation makes no logical sense at all no matter what people say.

example that isn't so strange - a universal translator in the Stargate that allows everyone to hear English (never mind that we often heard other languages)

I understand it's what fandom does.... I was wondering what some of things people have come up with in other fandoms that didn't make sense at all were.

OIC. Read you completely wrong, my fault entirely.

Weirdest things I recall reading as an explanation for canon usually involve open canon, if that makes any sense. Like between Harry Potter books, there'd be all kids of ridiculous stuff where people would try to bring computers to Hogwarts and make THAT work some how, (I've seen a few version of magical Microsoft that are long gone now!).

If I'd ever written one, I would have explained the Cat being able to smell space stuff as a psychic power that only the shallowest of cat people had access to.
