At half time, I thought it might not get very exciting. Thankfully, a four goal second half livened things up a little. Some great goals for the Germans, and a decent one for Portugal brought a fitting end to the tournament for those teams.
As one tournament is ending, another is getting under way. The Tri-Nations began last night in Christchurch. I was really looking forward to it after Australia's lead up performances against England and Ireland. I even circled it in the TV guide so I wouldn't forget. I turned the TV on at 5:30pm when it was scheduled to start, and it wasn't on. There was hockey instead. I double checked the TV guide. Yes, it was definitely on at 5:30. Did I have the week wrong (the Austar guide covers the whole calendar month)? No, it was definitely right - Saturday the 8th of July. And today was........Sunday. Shit! I got the bloody day wrong. So I missed the match. The Wallabies got soundly beaten anyway, so it's not all bad. At least that's what I've been telling myself.
