Schedule for Fall 2010/General Update

May 04, 2010 03:32

Alright, everyone. I've decided to start updating more frequently. No, really. I mean it this time. You just wait and see.

To start things off, here's my schedule for Fall Semester:

Medieval Russia (which I'll be TAing for)
British Literature pre-1800 (I get to real Beowulf for the umpteenth trillionth time! Yay!)
Golf (the only sport which wasn't at a funky time. I hope they don't make me buy all my gear)
Improv (for fun)
American Revolution
Men's Chorus

Out of all these classes, only Golf, Medieval Russia, and Brit lit are absolutely necessary. My stress-the-hell-out semester shall be reserved for the spring. Thank you very much, procrastinating seniors, for putting off Core 350 until second semester Senior year, therefore taking up all the spots and forcing me to put off the class until the spring as well.

In non-school related matters, I've come upon a mound of spiritual books, many on monasticism, thanks to my church reading group. Coupled with the large chunk of change left on my Amazon gift card and the number of bargains on books that dot the website, I've begun to amass a library in my room that might warrant the acquiring of a bookshelf taking up a moderately large fraction of an entire wall next year. Book reviews of said books are to be recorded here shortly.

Lastly, I'm about to wrap up my internship...my last day can't come fast enough. Although I'm grateful for acquiring the internship in the first place, my luck in terms of both excavations and research opportunities really came up short (which was nobody's fault). I can only do so much filing away and data input before my mind decides to go on strike. Perhaps the San Mateo Museum back home might have some more hands-on work for me, In'shallah. Until then, I'm rushing to tie up the loose ends before I begin my last year at Whitworth.

classes, update
