we has a house!
Here is the chronology of events:
Friday night: Matt was in communication with the landlord of a nice house in NE Portland who wanted someone to come by, but we couldn't because Dad was in town
Saturday morning: Beth graciously agreed to go check it out for us and gave a thumbs up vote.
Sunday morning: Dad and I drove down to Portland and checked out the house, both of us gave it a thumbs up vote.
Sunday afternoon: Former tenant of the house stops by, asks if the landlord is there, says something cryptic about how horrible she is, refuses to explain, and drives away.
Monday morning: Landlord tells Matt that the house is ours if we want it for a 6 month lease. Squeeing and jumping around ensues.
Monday afternoon: Landlord tells Matt that she might be getting an offer on the house and if she accepts it, we don't get to live there.
Tuesday morning: After a day of held breath, landlord tells Matt that she didn't accept the offer and we're in.
WOOT!
So over the next few weeks, we'll be moving down to our new house in NE Portland (36th and NE Shaver). The Big Move will likely happen around Thanksgiving.
