on my street

Life has been very kind to me lately.

I'm still a bit of a stress ball, but nowhere near as bad as I was last week. My finals are all done, and I got three of my marks back so far. I've gotten: 85, 86 and 88%. Whoa. I am absolutely blown away - I was so certain my Goddess class would have been a 75% at the very most, but I got an 86%. It was a 380 level religious studies class (but it counts towards my major in WGST) which I've only taken 100 and a 200 level religious studies course before.

I'm so grateful for passion and great profs. ♥ Now, once I get my philosophy mark back my GPA will go down again. To put it bluntly, if I pull a 70%, I'll be impressed. Ah, well.

So we're pretty much settled into the house. Now my big stress is coming from moving out of our apartment. I cannot WAIT to get out of there. I'm so sick of Boardwalk. We have until Monday to keep moving. We've been steadily packing things up, but I'd say we're only about 40% finished. Bah. Next time, we're hiring movers.

I have crap load of pictures to share, many of them involve ridiculously adorable cats. LIKE THIS:

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. (I've never had two cats before, leave me alone)
They absolutely slay me. Nero is HUGE. I love him so much.
I had the most intense cat cuddle of MY LIFE. I was sitting on the floor and Nero walked up to me, looked me in the eyes, got up on his hind legs and put his paws on my shoulders and RUBBED HIS HEAD AGAINST MY FACE OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN while purring like crazy.
Oh my god. It was so adorable but also so intimidating because he's so huge. ♥ AHHHH.

Also, MORE AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH.

Fuck yes.

Mister Kubla Kahn getting used to our stuff (Nero also slept in our luggage.

I think this is the best I can show for how big he is. He's so shy, too. I love him.

Them being outdoor cats makes me nervous, to be honest. But they seem to do well.

They do love their outside time.

I could not sleep the first few nights. So we brought our own mattress. We were about a metre off the ground. :B We've since moved into the other room. It's cozier. I sleep much better, too.

BBS.

NO. KEEP GROOMING ME.

SEED BBS!

AND OUR AWESOME HUGE BACKYARD. With a tonne of gardening space. I really want to buy a trampoline.

Cats adore Brett. They always climb onto him. I don't get it, WHY DON'T THEY SIT ON ME?! ): My sister says it's probably because I smell of desperation.

I brought along a couple of books with me while the rest are going into storage. I had a really hard time deciding what to bring, but I brought pagan and sex books because I figured they would not have any. Well, they have plenty of sex positive feminism books. I.am.stoked.
There are so many that I have slated to read now. But these are what I brought (along with a bunch of our favourite vegan cookbooks, but they're away right now). Plus my Kobo is loaded up with fiction books.

I also had two epic bubble baths. Jet tubs are magic. It's probably going to be very hard to move out of here come July.

So community garden meeting went awesome. I'm so excited. Naomi says we should be planting in the beginning of May. Woo hoo! 1/3rd of the food grown goes to the volunteers. There's about 25 of us, 4 of them are me, Brett, Chey and my dad, and it's a 5400 square feet garden. So plenty of veggies incoming (hopefully). Hah!

My dad also signed up for a composting class. He's so awesome. He's really excited about the garden, too.

I wish some of you would come visit me. This is optimal time. We could give you a guest room. ;_; If only.

BRETT IS 24 TOMORROW! BB. Ethiopian food will happen.
Yup. That guy, I tell you. He's amazing, and I'm going to go harass him now.
