I managed to complete 6 out of the 10 things on my list--if I let myself fudge a little.  Last night, I:

1. Washed most of the dishes (2 loads and there were still some on the counter!)
2. Part of the FlyLady routine, but definitely got the meditation part in.
5. Worked on baby afghan until I ran out of yarn.  Must get more paddy green--don't ask.
6. Typed up and distributed the Women of Today minutes
8. Watched Hell's Kitchen
9. Read part of Georgiana, Duchess of Devonshire--not a cozy but was still reading so it counts!

I'm supposed to go to book club tonight where it will be a potluck and discussion of My Sister's Keeper.  I'm undecided as to whether or not I should go.

Cons:
  • Meeting starts at 6 because of the potluck element. I will be at least an hour late.
  • There is nothing I can really bring to eat.  Most people will have already finished eating by the time I get there and there's the problem of time constraint--do I have time to stop somewhere on my way?  Not really.
  • Meeting is at some woman's house out in the country--about 20 minutes from home (and NOT on the way home from work) and directions have not been very clear.  Remember, I can't find my way out of a paper bag!
  • Potluck/social will most likely interfere with book discussion.
  • I have a lot of stuff to do before Thursday's Women of Today meeting and around the house.
Pros:
  • Everyone knows I am unable to attend before 7, so they will eat first and hold off on the discussion.
  • There will be plenty of food without my bringing anything.  This is a group of older women who love to cook and create dishes.  Many of them will bring more than one.  Even though I hate to show up empty handed, whatever I bring won't be eaten by that time anyway.
  • I think I may know how to get to this place and there aren't many places where I can make a wrong turn.
  • The book should lend itself to a lively discussion.  I'm very interested to hear what other people thought of it--particularly the ending.
I guess it really depends on what time we get to town.  If it's later than normal, then there probably isn't much point on my attending.  I mean, if I can't get there until 7:20, I've already missed most everything.  It also depends on how I'm feeling.  I'm not feeling particularly well today and the ride home won't make me feel any better.
