I am not a poet, and this is not a completed piece, but I share it for consideration. Feedback is always welcome.

Misty Looking Glass

Look through my looking glass,
What do you see?
Darkness--no light visible,
Starkness--no warmth possible,
Unbending thoughts--flexibility unfeasible.

Wipe away the mist,
What do you see now?
A warm and gentle heart,
A logical mind,
An outstretched hand?

See only with your mind’s looking,
And never with your heart’s knowing,
You may miss the opportunity,
To feel a loving hand,
Or to see the inward sun.

My looking glass is there,
For the eyes of your soul to see,
The visions I can know,
Of life and dreams and love.

You will part the mists?
