DEFRIENDING AMNESTY

May 24, 2011 23:54

As part of my procrastination when preparing for the presentation I gave today, I cleaned up my f-list. Mostly comms I no longer read and dead journals, but if you think you have been accidentally/ unfairly defriended, please speak up.

On the other hand, if anyone wishes to defriend me then you are more than welcome to do so, no questions asked. If my whining rambling entries in which I bitch about uni and stupid people do not amuse you (and I can understand if they don't), or you feel we've grown apart, or that I totally tricked you into friending me in the first place (hey, it could happen)... go for it.

In other news...

Had a great time on the weekend. Laura is ready to pop, and it was great to catch up with her and Jason. Steve and Amy's wedding was beautiful, and quite a small and intimate celebration which made it such an honour to have been invited.

And I'm sick again. Or sicker. I'm realising that I can't really remember being 100% since January-ish and it's driving me nuts. I can't wait for this semester to be over, but between events and Orientation work it won't exactly be much of a break. So tired.

Honours Workshop presentation today went well, although the huge amount of background and implicit knowledge that needs explaining first before I can actually get into any detail about my thesis chewed up a big chunk of my allotted time, plus I rushed it because I was afraid of a coughing fit. But my showing up in viking kit went over well, and the class was very interested and responsive even if they did mostly miss the point that I'm actually looking at information literacy, not re-enactment as a field.

Finally got marks back from my first assignment in the Social Science class. Did OK, got a credit and some great concrit from the lecturer- it's definitely critical (he decided that was better to be harsh now than wait until thesis time, which is fair enough. I can do tough love), but the feedback is constructive although I did have to point out that some of the things he pointed out as flaws were things I had done on advice from my supervisor since we have such different specialties. Anyhow, I have another presentation next week for this other class, and he has both read and enjoyed the piece by Eco I have chosen so now I have to ensure that I do it good. Which means 1) finding the time to do it properly, which as usual is in short supply, and 2) bending my brain around the way Jeremy does stuff and expects things to be done.

Meeting with Hilary tomorrow morning, then interviewing new PN's, then working the State of Origin party at the uni bar. So I'll be at uni from 10-9pm, and then Thursday is Union desk then end of semester party so working 9am-9pm. Need to clean at some point before Friday because I have a big very important business meeting at dad's company in the morning, then sewaddicted will come home with me for sewing in the afternoon and then Mick, Chandra and dartanus will be joiing us for dinner. Yay awesome people!

honours, j&l, uni is eating my brain, brisbane friends, weddings, brisbane
