If it's too good to be true, it probably is

Con was good fun albeit quiet. I spent my days working in the coffee shop (10-12h per day) which, combined with the cold I'd picked up beforehand and the general lack of sleep at camp, left me too tired in the evenings to do much besides attend the feasts then sit in camp talking with whoever was there to keep me company. So there was not nearly as much socialising or researching as previously intended, but on the plus side being at the coffee house all the time meant I got to meet so many other people I otherwise wouldn't have. I also sold all my cakes and made a reasonable amount of profit to put into my tattoo fund.

It started raining on Saturday afternoon and today was the first day since that's been clear. So a lot of my gear is still damp and the frigging tent has started to mould, but on the plus side at camp it stayed dry inside, and the new group sunshade worked a treat.

Got home from camp about 6pm on Tuesday, and once I'd had dinner and a shower I essentially collapsed in bed. Worked all day Wednesday and skipped trivia, and Thursday was graduation. I wore my sexy red cocktail dress under the academic robes (I really wanted to run around screaming 'fuck you I'm a wizzaaaaaaaard!' the entire time), my parents and Adam were all there, the Dean winked at me when he read my name so I guess he remembers my paperwork panic from 2 weeks ago, and the guest speaker was Mem Fox, author of children's books including Possum Magic. Afterwards we went out to dinner with Kerry and Allan which was lovely, and I then spent Friday with mum in the city and there was no murdering done.

Saturday was a SMAC workshop and we managed to get one out of the 4 tent doors done *facepalm* I've done most of a second on my own today (I would have finished one easily, but I'm still exhausted from camp and having a fibro attack so my fingers aren't working properly) so fingers are crossed that we'll get it all done in time, because Ironfest will be bloody wet and cold with nowhere to sleep.
