Picspam: Gossip Girl Genderswap Re-casting
Instead of doing my econ project this beautiful rainy Satuday... I decided to do a picspam instead. I've been re-watching episodes of season one of Gossip Girl over again because I was looking for scenes for a Dan/Blair vid, but instead got sidetracked with the whole genderswap craze that has been going on my tumblr dash instead. SO! This was the result of my very unproductive Saturday afternoon. Hope you guys enjoy it! =)
SETH VAN DER WOODSEN
I thought Alex would make a fabulous Serena. He's oh-so-pretty with a certain playful vibe to him that makes me think is very Serena-esque. Also since Serena spends most of her scene time in tight, short dresses with major cleavage exposure I thought her male counterpart should be able to spend most of his time shirtless. Alex does that job pretty darn well. When I was Google searching his pictures I'd say about 75% of them were of him half naked... not that I am complaining, quite the opposite in fact. ;-)
BLAKE WALDORF
I am a huge fan of Nicholas Hoult and so that's probably why he's almost always somewhere in my dream castings, but you have to admit that he'd make a very badass Blair. Tony Stonem is pretty much Blair Waldorf's male counterpart. We've seen him be cocky and manipulative and we've also seen him being vulnerable and insecure. I also love how Nicholas has a very privileged, prep school look that just screams old school Upper East Side money.
NATALIE ARCHIBALD
Nate is kind of oblivious most of the time and he's very well aware of how pretty he is, but he also wants more in life than to be just the It Boy. Despite his rather questionable actions he does have good intentions so I wanted someone who portray all that and lo and behold! Ashley Benson! I love her character Hanna Marin in the show Pretty Little Liars and I feel like she is the perfect embodiment of someone who is sweet despite their popularity.
CHARLOTTE BASS
For female!Chuck, I wanted someone who had a dark, sultry look to them with immediately I thought of Sophia Bush. She just oozes sex appeal and has that party girl look to her. In addition, Sophia's character Brooke Davis on One Tree Hill and Chuck both share many similar qualities such as issues with their parents and falling in love with their best friend's significant others. Also both have absolutely fabulous wardrobes. Sequins and sparkly suits/dresses FTW.
DANIELLA HUMPHREY
Casting Dan Humphrey was extremely hard for me since I wanted someone who looked book smart and down to earth, but still look like they could hold their own against the Upper East Side crowd. Enter Lyndsy Fonseca. She has just the sweetest smile and looks very much like the humble girl-next-door, but she can also be tough when she has to be. I can see her being an aspiring writer with a strong family values and a strict set of morals who falls for the reformed It Boy.
JEFFREY HUMPHREY
This one was also very difficult to cast as I wanted someone who looked young and naive, but is also ambitious and capable of climbing the social ladder at Constance Billard. I'm still kind of iffy about this casting, but I felt like Zach fits Jenny's eager-to-please image in the initial season of Gossip Girl. I also felt like he would have good chemistry with Lyndsy as siblings and I felt one of the best things about the Humphreys were their brother-sister relationship.
VAN ABRAMS
They both have the most GORGEOUS EYES EVER!!! I think that is reason enough. I was never a fan of Vanessa's character on GG, but you have to admit that Jessica Szohr is a pretty lady and so is Jesse Williams (he's more of a handsome shark than a pretty lady though =P)
