Wow; what a tortured, dark little fic. It was simple gorgeous; I love your wording -- you didn't "over-detail" anything. You were quick, your sentences were really "cut" in a way that they just didn't drag on and on. They were quick and really, really gorgeous.

I love the song, too. Denny/Izzie FTW. ♥ I obviously don't really know Goodwin/Alex, but this was seriously beautiful. I personally love the first bit that includes the lyrics.
