As she puts down her cell phone, Jo can’t help the grin that forms on her lips. She hadn’t actually been expecting Dean to call her. Instead she had expected to hear about Dean’s and Sam’s fate from her mother if she actually heard anything at all. However, Dean had called her and he had told her the story of what had happened.
During his emotionless monologue, Jo had known better to interrupt him. Something told her that he was taking a big step by opening up to her in the first place. And at that moment, she really didn’t care if the demon that had possessed Sam had been right when it had taunted her about Dean.
All that mattered as she sat down on her bed and stared at her phone was that Dean was safe, Sam was no longer possessed and Dean had kept his promises. Jo didn’t care if Dean would never look at her as anything more than a kid sister.

It wasn’t as if he didn’t make time for parties or the occasional date, but parties and girls were secondary in his life. Or at least they were until one of his friends had dragged him to a Friday night party and he saw her just as she entered the door. She was blonde and dressed in a pair of jeans with a brown t-shirt. At the sight of her radiant smile, Sam suddenly developed a new goal. He wasn’t going to leave the party until she left with him. Sam flashed her a smile as he made his way across the crowded room to her side.
