happy fourth of july to me.....found out some great fucking news...
(quick back story: my sister had a friend when she was 16 who lived with her aunt. this friend was named Sandee. Her aunt couldn't handle having her, and my parents offered to adopt her. She lived with us until she was 18 or 19, she had gotten married, and we saw her maybe a handful of times since then. Then being over a decade ago)...
my adopted sister has two kids. One of them ran away and moved in with her father. Now Sandee is left with the 3 year old daughter. Apparently her aunt is telling her that the baby is holding her back and she suggested to her to give her up for adoption. Guess what my wonderful family has decided....they want to adopt her.
Don't get me wrong, I think its a nice, generous idea....but that idea is being thought out by 2 families (mine and my older sisters) who can barely afford to take care of the family they already have under the roof. Too add someone else is going to be too stressing on everyone. Especially a 3 year old, who will constantly be asking "where is my mommy?"
Any advice?
