Oh goodness what is happening. Last weekend Lara did come out and it was fabulous; we had nail polish parties and went to Northampton and other people went to Drag Ball without pants while I put on PJs and wrote a paper, and generally it was delightful times even if there are a mass of terrible pictures on Facebook. Also, when
lite_bright and I decide to begin a utopia, it rapidly becomes a somewhat fascist state full of statues of me and a waterpark in the shape of her face.
Then a bunch of stuff probably happened during the week? All I remember is that Joe Ellis has an obsession with getting an Adams memorial in a specific place on the Tidal Basin so he can be near Thomas Jefferson, and that Thursday featured far too many feelings and serious for anyone's (that is, my) good. So we are absolved of talking about feelings for the next several years, at least.
Last night Amal, Nootan, and I went out to the crepe place in Amherst, since we hadn't gone to dinner together in forever. Amal and I spent a good deal of time continuing to be sad about Dwayne McDuffie while Nootan put up with us as usual. Someone from high school worked there, and we had the awkward "Oh hey, so... I see you too go to college around here?" moment. But the crepes were delicious! This was followed by a homework party in Jane's room, which become a listening-to-national-anthems party followed by a learning-about-the-pope party, because we are happening college students on a Friday evening. Nootan was strangely unimpressed by facts about the Swiss Guard, but she's the one who asked what I'd been doing.
Jane sent on
an article written by John Darnielle about the All-Star weekend, and after reading it I discovered via twitter that he is also playing at a Planned Parenthood rally today. John Darnielle how is everything about you perfect?
