Hindsight Favors Those With Good Vision

Feb 08, 2010 03:00

There are so many things in my life that I wish I would've been able to do. To travel more, to make more friends, to really experience my life as opposed to having it simply effect me. In hindsight, all of these things are marvelous and yet completely irrelevant in my life at the moment. Who gives a shit what I wanted in the past--it's not going to change a damn thing about what my life is right now, what it could be in a year, 5 years, 10 years. There are things now that I want in my life--life long friends, a stable job, stable living, supportive family, to graduate--nothing too much to ask in my exceedingly instable life. Looking forward, I've decided, favors the better than 20/20 vision. Foresight takes practice.. skill that very few in any society can say they have truly mastered. There is no free will, only the intense desire the follow in the footsteps of someone else who has lived a very similar life to your own.
