Anyway, were I to start gambling on sports, I think I would bet small amounts against my team all the time, or perhaps only bet more significant amounts against them in playoff/championship games. Win-win situation. If the team loses, I get money. If the team wins, I may lose a little money, but that fact would be consoled by the team winning. A situation with seemingly little downside(especially if the team happened to perform very poorly for a significant stretch).
I don't know if you're a gambler yourself, but it's just something I've wondered about for a while.

I wandered in from grammarpolice and thought I'd say "hello". As a Red Sox fan, I was in that same situation myself. However I found that all came down to the fact that I really, really, really loathe the Yankees. **sigh** Wasn't this weekend just devastating?
I also noticed that you sing opera. Have you worked with Will Mouat or Rob McPherson before? The former is my former voice teacher and the latter is one of my best friends who has sung all over the country including National Opera, NYC Opera and (next year) The Met.
Oh, and Happy Birthday. I read your previous post. 30 is not big deal. And, if you think about it, you're in one of those rare and magnificent professions where being older is actually an advantage.
