random brief updating for May
I can't believe it's already May 12!

we saw the new Star Trek movie on Sunday, and indeed it was fun and enjoyable!

I have pictures of very pretty flowers in our yard. they can be found at this link. two of the three irises I bought last fall didn't make it. the other irises that I got from Colette and are planted in a different location, don't seem to be getting enough sun. they are growing, though, and hopefully will bloom eventually.

David and I will be hosting Chomps and Axel for a trial visit on Memorial Day weekend. Colette said we could borrow one of her crates, since we only have one. time to break out all the doggie stuff.

I am now on the Board of Trustees at church, for a three-year term. first meeting is May 20. also, the congregation voted against investing in a new heating system for the church building at the present time. this comes up because Alliant Energy has announced they will no longer provide steam for heating in down town CR after December 31. which means things are a little... uncertain...

I finally found a new person/image for Kendall! I do have to mention this, even if only in passing, because it took something like five years since I'm so very picky.

only 41 dogs in the kennel + three volunteers = a pretty easy night. we were home by midnight on Saturday.

I can't believe it's already May 12!! I still have to figure out what to do for my church service on June 14, not to mention the one July 5. then I'll be pretty much done until January because the worship associates don't have to cover many services this fall. sweet.
