msop event #7
$20+2 NLHE. started at 2:20pm cst. 2,056 entered, 234 paid. T3000 starting stack.
EDIT: limping a lot of hands but not connecting or finding good bluffing spots.
EDIT: thought i hit a home run, but it was just a single. limped 56o on the button, flop 55K turn 6 and only got one bet out of it. down to T2700.
EDIT: UGH. limped J4s in the cutoff, button makes it 3x to go. i call. flop Th5h3s. i check, intending to call to set up a later bluff. he bets 100 into the 300+ pot, i call. the turn is the 5d, and i fire out for 2/3 the pot, hoping to take it right there, but he calls. the river is a blank, and i fire 600 into the 900 pot, and get reraised. i fold.
so yeah, nothing is working! T1800.
EDIT: picked up AKo on the button and reraised the UTG raiser. completely whiffed and checked it all the way down. he had AJ. T2100.
EDIT: back to T1700. called a raise with JTo and board falls 7h8h3h. with the Jh and a gutshot i call a 1/2 pot bet, but a brick Q on the turn forces me to give it up.
EDIT: picked up AA UTG, raise 3.5x, got two callers. we all check the T hi board, and i fire out the turn when a J hits. one caller. river is a Q and we check it down. villain shows J9.
next hand i raise in the BB with AQo. one caller on the button. he checks the 7 hi flop and i am suspicious, so i do the same. he checks a T on the turn, and i bet 3/5 of the pot. flat call from villain. turn is a blank, and we both check. villain has 99. i really need to get lucky and connect every now and then...T1780.
EDIT: flat call a raise with TT, flop comes K hi and villain moves all in. fantastic. i am starting to remember why i don't play enormous field tournaments. i never really hit anything, and it's hard to bluff people who usually aren't paying attention. i need something to happen pretty soon. my M is 27, but i don't want to be here all day playing catch up. i might have to start raising preflop!
EDIT: so i raise in mid position with A4o, one caller. i fire out on the QQ6 flop, and he folds. T1840. currently 1599 out of 1717.
EDIT: blinds at 25-50, M is floating at around 24.
EDIT: up to T2000. limped T7o in the cutoff, flop comes AK8 two spades. both players check to me and i make it 125/175. one call. turn is a Ts (!) and we both check. river is another A and we check. i'm good, villian had J7o (??). don't think i could have value bet that...
EDIT: T3132. busted UTG raiser with my 99 v KJ. i moved in preflop hoping to isolate and faded his 6 outer. 860/1555.
EDIT: T3279. M is about 36.
EDIT: down to T2226. it's really hard when nothing works out. i finally flop a pair after calling a raise with Q9s on the button. flop is 984 two hearts. initial raiser leads out for a T$00 pot-size bet. i flat call hoping a blank turns and i can push. of course, the Jh comes off, which freezes me. he checks, i check behind. turn is the As, another fucking EXCELLENT card and he bets T1100. i give it up reluctantly. if a black deuce turns i'm pretty sure i can confidently shove all in and be up to T4200.
next hand i turn a straight with 66 and raise on the turn, win some back.
EDIT: falling. T2016. limped A4 on the button and flop falls QJ4. we both check and i call his turn and river bets when blanks come off. he has the QJ for flopped two pair. i'm in double up or go home mode.
at first break, i am 1237/1396. T1956. when we come back, my M will be 16. need to pick up a hand. my activity should get me paid off if i get a big pair.

A4o. open for 3x BB, flop falls AJ7 two diamonds. i bet 300 into 500 pot. he thinks and raises 900. not seeing how i can beat anything but i'm tired. i shove and he shows AKs. gg. out in 1266th.
wow. talk about not being able to get anything going. i flopped top pair a total of twice, and it was good neither time. second pair won me two or three pots, trips another small one. made a few pennies on the turned straight. no flushes to speak of, or sets for that matter. i think i'm done with the MSOP.
