Saturday we a good day, Mum and Dad came over with Jacob, one of their now grown up foster kids, so Dad could finish the shed and green house. I spent some time helping him after doing the accounts, knocking nails out of planks is very therapeutic. Alex was playing with Granny in the camper van for a change! Amazingly though I was allowed in and given a "cup of tea".
On Sunday we got the train to Goathland with Mum, Dad and Jacob, walked around the village and had a cup of tea, then got the next train back. It was nice to have a change of scenery, even if it was rather rushed as we had the choice of 1 hour or 3 in Goathland!
We spent a noisy afternoon with the bubble gun and the weigh bridge crew. Malcolm was trying to keep Alex busy so I could plan our evening train trip with Janice and Doreen. We did get it done, but not without 'help'.
Yesterday I made a snap decision to leave the washing and be sociable so I went and picked up Liz and Casey and we joined Haxby NCT at a park in Strensall. Alex had fun and didn't bite anyone! We had a quiet afternoon apart from Lindsay dropping in with her very boisterous girls to give me some tickets for Thursday's magic show at Huntington Memorial Hall.
Today we've had a morning at home of housework and washing, I've actually managed to strip our bed right back as the cats aren't here to mess it up! Attic ones are on tomorrow's list, then everything should be ready for the in-laws when we get back from Norfolk. Why did I think that was a good plan?
This afternoon we are off out to another park (the Homestead) I've never been to before with Liz, Cath and assorted kids to let them burn off some energy. It should be fun.
