Sunday was long, quiet and uneventful, and its typical that the weather seems to have changed just after Alex's playpen arrived! One of last weekend's biker victim's mates turned up to thank me for all my help, so that was nice. I suspect we'll be seeing a lot of that lot.
Yesterday we spent half the day in York with Ruth and Megan, which was nice. Besides banking some cash for the station group and buying glue I didn't have to do, but Ruth needed measuring for maternity bras. Luckily the large area in the back of the changing rooms where they do the measuring in M&S was empty, so I could let Alex and Megan have a bit of a romp while we waited and Ruth didn't have to rush. We went to get Megan measured for shoes, only to discover Jones the Boot's child section is up stairs and you can't take prams up there, how dumb! We helpfully left our 2 right in the middle of the shop.
After a few more bits and pieces we went to El Piano for a leisurely lunch, and it was lovely. We had a big shared platter of corn bread, baba ganoush, falafels and lots of other tasty bits and all four of us dug in. It is so nice having a baby who can eat whatever I order, rather then having to bring his own food. He did polish off a banana as well!
Today we've been to the Sure Start centre to check on MY garden beds, yes mine, I'm doing all the work, so I'm claiming them!! Alex was a bit warm and very cuddly. We've been over to Julia's this evening to see her, catch up, and dump and load of stuff on her, but we had to leave early as Alex is definitely running a temperature, very fed up, and in need of his own bed, poor thing. We shall have to see what tomorrow brings, as to whether he is better or worse.
Simon has been off today on his birthday steam excursion to Edinburgh with his Dad, and incidentally the Weigh Bridge crew, but I can live without 14 hours on a train, especially as there had been a 2 hour delay last time he was in touch.

friends, day trips, alex, sickness
