I love how you turned Arthur fully into a leader. He's still spontaneous, but as we've seen with the series he increasingly keeps his emotions in check and becomes stronger of mind. You showed that so wonderfully...and I love the backstory of how he has accepted Merlin.
And of course, Guinevere and Arthur's relationship, how he is with her in public, but also how he is with her in private, almost childlike and himself.
The way that Uther died reminded me a bit of a similar moment like that in my life, (when my father passed away some years ago) so I could feel Arthur's pain and that whole need to be a certain way in public when underneath...so much more is there that you only share with those you are closest to--for Arthur of course, Guinevere. I just think you captured that whole feeling of loss and the necessary public mourning period so well. Sorry, didn't mean to get so personal, but your story reminded me of that emotion because you wrote it so realistically.
Oh and one last note, I love how you made Uther human, all his flaws and everything. Yet of course Arthur loved him dearly and Guinevere even wanted him to live for Arthur. I sometimes see Uther written as the villain yet I think in the context of the show he is so much more complex. I loved how you showed that.
Beautiful...just beautiful. Excuse all my ramblings. <3

Oh fabyenn, you have such a beautiful unique style of writing. It is so soft in emotion, so calm that you feel what the characters are experiencing in such a realistic way.
That is praise of the highest order, which I gladly accept :).
I love too that you deal with all the issues of medieval time and that the show sometimes touches upon, how Gwen and Merlin were commoners and such, and that the nobility would look upon them in a certain way.
I figured Arthur being Regent might change some things, but the nobility would take longer to adjust. I'm happy that rang true to you.

I think/hope that Arthur's outward demeanor would be more 'kingly' (to borrow Bradley's words, lol) but that he would never stop being himself with Guinevere.

Well unfortunately, I speak from experience so I completely understand what you mean. I tried to portray Arthur's grief as palpable as possible, so thank you, that means a lot.

I'm happy you think I succeeded (lol).
