Guess what came today?

Today I received my first advanced reader copy, as well as the catalog with magic under glass in it. There were some nice little surprises, like the way the ARC opens with the letter from my editor about why she liked the book. I was a little surprised how tiny the book looks in ARC form, it seemed so short! Hopefully because it is all good parts. Anyway, I have been carrying this stuff everywhere I go all day, just staring at it and flipping through it again and again and again...

I attended the young adult book club at the Winter Park Library this evening (naturally, bringing the ARC with me) and had a blast. We discussed Feed and it was very interesting. Of course, there's a lot to talk about with a book like that. It was my first time attending, but certainly won't be my last. I'm excited to find a good social venue for a book geek like me. Also, the librarian had just gotten a box of ARC's so I managed to nab princess for hire without having to wait for it to come up in Tenners swap. I gave her Shiver to read and she liked it.

Speaking of Shiver, stay tuned for a great interview with Maggie Stiefvater here in the first week of August!
