well, i am still pretty sick, but i made it home from Birka......
The fact that i had to miss
ladyrowansplace viewing is going to hurt for some time. i take consolation in the fact that at least all her other friends didnt catch my cold.. and i still have a very clear memory of how she looked the last time i saw her (which was surprisingly well).
we arrived at Birka Friday late at night. and thanks to the massive amount of help from the Birka check in staff, MJ of "White Wolf and the Phoenix",
dr_zrfq and His Grace Duke Sir Gavin, we managed to get the van unloaded into our space in half an hour... which was the time we had until the hall closed for the night.
then
whouseknecht and i collapsed. he couldnt get up the next morning until late, so i went down and got (mostly) set up.
It was a slow sales day for a Birka. we usually do better than this.
we didnt eat or drink enough during the sales day....By the time we loaded the van and made it up to the room we were ravenous, and not too well. so we ordered in Pizza (neither of us is supposed to have Pizza) and salads. the place we called makes DARN good salads, and the pizza was good too.. so we wil have to remember them for next year.
Sunday morning we both overslept. Then
witchwestphalia stopped by and treated us to breakfast! and we finally got underway and went to the New Balance Factory Outlet store as we do every year. Wayne didn't find what he wanted, but i got another pair of my usual black sneakers...and two pair of white sneakers at 10 bucks a piece for "work" and scruffing up and so on.
we didn't get home until 10:30. i was even sicker by that point.
Today i managed to get into a car, and drive to go pick up the dog at the boarders (he did good, is all clean and brushed, and was his usual big baby self) and get the 90 pound, gets car sick, blocks the rear view mirror, German Shedder Dog home.
if i didnt have a class tonight, that would be all i would do.
i will be going to the church to offer a Mass for Lady Ro, and another friend who passed away recently. i really am beginning to have a personal hatred of cancer. It is such an ugly way to go, and it has taken too many of my friends.
I am busily knotting Rosaries for the memorial for Lady Ro. If anyone wants one just email me and put Rosary in the subject line.

and i fortunately did get a report on the viewing from one of her other friends who made it .
