Apparently Verizon has added a feature to their phones.
If you try to dial 911 an audible alarm sounds form your phone, and keeps sounding until the 911 operator picks up the call.
right, so on top of the nuisance value of a phone screaming in my ear when i am already panicked, i am now sending a loud audible signal "hey! this lady is trying to call the police.. over here! yeah, here!"
so, planning on trying to report a drug deal going down? hiding from an assault? running from an abusive spouse? trying to dial 911 while in the car with a kidnapper? forget it.. Verizon wants the criminal to know where you are, and what you are doing.
oh, yeah. they say they have "no complaints" so far...
