so i did a craft fair at school.. on Friday... and a street fair here in Philadelphia today (Saturday)
the Friday fair was better than anticipated, and would have been a GREAT event ... except we kept having to go inside the building due to rain. while we were outside i not only sold to some staff/teachers but to passrerbys in one of the better rent districts of downtown (high end shops are across the street, so its PRIMO real estate for me)
but inside? (sound of crickets chirping)
also, apparently the school really doesnt do much publicity on these events.. i kept hearing (from staff) "i didnt know this was going on!"
i can now break down a table and move it inside in under 10 minutes....
today we had the Trenton Avenue Arts Festival
http://trentonaveartsfest.blogspot.com/ (aka a street fair about a half mile from my house)
well, you cant complain about the distance to home!
i didnt do well at this one. i mean, i didnt BOMB, but it was a lot of hours in the heat and sun for not much money at all....but many other vendors said "lots of looks not much buying" so it wasnt just me... and many people took my card and did seem to like my product, so hopefully they will order later. i suspect the economy was to blame for much of it....but they need to post leaflets at the grocery stores....
I DID see one person from the local Philly Lolita groups (she looked familiar but out of lolita i didnt recognize her at first) and i saw an old friend of my mother's... so it was interesting.
i wish i could have gone to the SCA event in Maryland, but.. but..it was also outside, and was a long drive. sigh
anyway, working on losing the heat headache right now.
