sales, BPAL, thank yous, and etc
first of all, i got my Victoriana Goth, limited editions Bats Day BPAL scent!
huzzah!
i havent tried it on, as i was wearing some BPAL already, but in the bottle it smells like heaven... all rose and warm and delicious...now i really wish i had the money to have bought two, ah well....
tomorrow, the twelfth, is a 30% off sale at NM last call (Neiman Marcus Last Call) siiiiiiiigh
i found two dresses at Target. they are shorter than i usually wear, but with good tights should be acceptable... related to this i have decided that i shall indeed break down and look into buying Spanx. they just came out with a new line that is outerwear (tops, meant to be worn visibly) but i just need some smoothing out in a few places if i am going to wear shorter dresses in lighter fabrics.
we had a guest speaker at school (Emil De John's usual rack of fabulous guests) she is the chief marketing person in the accessories department of Oscar De La Renta. she was wearing a fabulous dress.... it was cut like a good quality sheath dress, with strong horizontal black and white banding.. everyone assumed it was sheer pleats over a solid dress...take a block print of chiffon, pleat it evenly... poof.... right?

it was hand painted and cut STRIPS of chiffon sewn in "rings" all around the dress... about half an inch wide.. completely covering the dress.

earlier we had seen a Karl Lagerfeld show on dvd.. i had to laugh, he gets his high collars custom made on Savile Row, and i had just finished reading about it.
