My house was well warmed!

The housewarming party was a success!

I crock-potted about 5 lbs of pork and onions for pulled pork-sandwiches (for about 12 hours).  I also made a baked salmon dish for the vegetarians:

In a skillet, butter : 1 cup chopped onions, 1 cup chopped carrots, 1 cup chopped zuccinni, 1 tblsp parsely, about 1 tbltspoon fresh basil and terragon.  Soften the onions first, and then very lightly soften the carrots and zucinni.  Lay out in a 9 x 13 pyrex cooking dish, place salmon on top, sprinkly a bit of lime/terragon/parsely.  Bake for 30 minutes at 350.

It came out perfect and everyone raved about the salmon.

Baked beans were (and always are) by feel, draining out about a pound of baked beans, adding mollasses, dollop of honey,  katsup, mustard powder and brown sugar.  30-45 minutes at 350.  Careful on the molasses, as it can make the beans a little watery if you add too much.

Coleslaw was chopped/grated cabbage/ grated carrots, about 1/4 cup cider vinegar, a cup of mayo, a 1/2 cup of sugar and about 1/4 cup of heavy cream and about a tblsp of celery seed.

My neighbors from downstairs came and they were great.  It was nice to meet and chat with them.  We have a lot in common!  One of them taught me how to chop vegetables correctly so they weren't flying around all over the house.  :D  Most of my Sunday gaming group showed up (with spouses, etc), my best friend visited briefly, my uh..partner in crime came (and then left for another party) and The next door neighbor came over.  It was a crowed house - with tons of food and drink and I think everyone got their fill.  :)

Our movie for the evening was "Cloverfield", but our intro movie to that was "Dragon Wars" - which everyone should know is pure plotonium, it's so bad.  I love hearing people groaning through that one!  >:)  Any movie with dinosaurs with rocket launchers is good stuff in my book!

The only thing that was a little disappointing was that I didn't get much sleep the night before and so was a little groggy all day and when everyone went home at around midnight, I was one tired little unicorn.

My normal Sunday Ars Magica game was cancelled, so I sat around watching Eureka (after cleaning the kitchen and dining room), reading and bumming all day.  It was awfully hot, but my fans kept everything cool (enough).  The evening ended peacefully curled up with my partner in crime (and the portable air-conditioner going full blast).

All in all, an almost perfect weekend!  :D
